Always good to see the apologists and white knights struggling to make excuses for Megacon’s failures. We got cheap Chinese junk and a see ya’ when things went south here. That tells you everything you need to know about the MegaConners. Excuse me while I shed a tear over their sad fate....they would have done so much good, if it only wasn’t for those mean backers who actually expected them to deliver a decent product. How dare they! Meanwhile, the cheats and scammers galore making Kickstarter a cesspool thank you for your support of mediocrity.

@Dudek I never understood your hate, yes Brian was poor at PR but high creativity, they messed up but delivered a lot, I get you hold a grudge for any slight but that reflects more on you.

You are wrong Palladin with the Robotech rpg / skirmish took $1.4 Million only delivered a small core game to some and 5 years later said they failed.

MGC delivered all of recon with a few poor sculpts, more Chinese manufacturing than their fault, yes they could have done better but we all knew that this was a handful of people not big experienced company.

We will also probably get all of Journeyman.

Lots of decent peoples businesses fail, the crooks plan it and exit leaving nothing, these guys haven't and from what I can see are doing their best to fulfil their moral duty.

KS is not a shop its an investment system, few promises and always investor risk.

    3. Michael Dudek on April 7

I disagree on the 'good guys' part. No one decent would run a business and mislead people as much as especially Brian has. MERCS is dead; MegaCon is dead. Good riddance.

    4. Slyde on March 23

I agree that they seem to basically be good guys, but they could have handled things SO much better...

From the "dancing around the truth" about when the items had shipped, only to tell us later that there was a problem with the minis and they actually had NOT shipped, to telling us during the campaign that the minis would come in 2-3 pieces when ultimately they were broken down into much more than that....

Theres just alot they could have (and should have) done differently....

Recon with the updated rules is a good+ game. I know some don't like the one shot BC but there is no reason you can't just do multiple BCs. When you add in all the expansions and consider the replayabilty for switching in and out team members , plus swap factions , the sheet volume of missions and multiple gameplay, Lockdown etc. It becomes a great game. TBH the odd mini quality is not such an issue for me and yes Its sad if some idntcreceive their pledge but it sounds like they haven't been aboandoned. I never understood the hate which probably undermined them a lot, yes they aren't good at everything but what they are good at gave us Myth , Recon and Mercs (bought just the rule book and use minis from Recon). I can name lots of companies , corporations now , that are good at the commercal stuff but not so great creatively and certainly not value for money and they have 10 times or more the MGC staff. Perhaps if more had accepted their weaknesses as well as their strengths we would have a thriving company , slowly learning from their mistakes. There were more campaigns deserving of the negative attention, run by crooks or not delivering or not sorting issues. MGC tried and still are but they seemed to attract hate from a small number hellbent on destroying them at every turn from FB to Bgg and on here often pledging to spread hate and then cancelling pledge, maybe it makes them feel they can do something but I prefer MGCs creativity and product to their bullying.

    6. Renaat (no more KS) on March 16

Nobody is interested in mercs stuff in my corner of the world. Tried dumping my stuff at a fraction of what I paid and no takers. Not even after I painted up all secfor and a single faction. Another (expensive) ks lesson learned. I've got a couple of ks now under the belt that resulted in the end of the company and one that is going down that road (mage company)

    7. Strogar on March 12

The answer is 0, no one buys any Recon stuff from eBay.
Basically only one person is left at megacon and not going to answer any support emails at this point.
A different game designer told me at a recent convention that most of the artists and designers have moved on.
He had talked to some of the ones that worked on Myth DF about the rules/mechanics for that game and they admitted that it got little to no play testing.
MegaCON knew they were in trouble at the end of 2016 and started other KS campaigns knowing that they would be selling the Myth franchise but rushed the Myth DF KS to get more money before announcing the sale.

I’m sure it means absolutely nothing. Likely when they update their corporate info on here, it auto fills all of the other pages with whatever they put. MERCS is still dead.

has anyone noticed the list of Collaborators changed on the original Myth and Recon KS pages?
could be wrong but don't remember seeing this company listed under the created by link before, so is this the new company and did they make a deal for more than just Myth ?
Lynnvander does not list working on Myth or with MERCS on their website at all so why/when did they get listed on the older KS campaigns?
the lead graphic designer at the company also shows one of his favorite games as Myth.

You are welcome to revel in mediocrity. One thing the MegaConners were never able to demonstrate is an ability to learn from their mistakes over their fortunately brief history. If you wanted to see condescension, arrogance, and non communication, you were in the right spot. Good riddance.

I have to break a lance for the team behind and the game!
I got a lot of content gor my money and a good game i still like to play.

Not all was good i know. Missing pieces, partial inferior miniatures, problems with colors and printing, subpar packing.

But to be fair a lot of the problems where caused by the chinese manufacture.
And iam sure the team did their best to solve every case.
I got pieces missing. But after a email i got them replaced without questioning.

      I would back Mercs again!

    21. Slyde on December 11

      Its sad, really.

There IS a game in there.... it just needed some more polish (and dont get me started on the issues with the quality of the components)...

    22. Michael Dudek on December 10

Accept that it is over here, and you've gotten all you're going to get from these clowns. While maintaining the facade of trying to sell the Myth IP, MERCS has been abandoned on all fronts. It's clear it was a second fiddle to them, and the IP is likely dead, dead, dead in general, let alone RECON.

    23. Strogar on December 7

Myth isn't 'sorted out' yet and they don't have any replacements or money to make more RECON stuff, no one is buying it at retail or eBay anyway.
All that was posted in the JM update is that contracts won't be signed until JAN 2018 and even then the new company won't announce until MARCH.
Hopefully it is all true and we can finally get all the JM stuff sometime in 2018 but based on what MegaCON has told backers in the past, they are not upfront nor totally honest when giving details.
It could just be another delay and disappointment in March 2018.
Doubt they will ever post anything about RECON again.

    24. Slyde on November 27

      i wouldnt hold your breath...

    25. Michael Auty on November 25

So now that myth is sorted. Does that mean we are going to get our replacements now?

    26. Michael Dudek on November 10

I feel bad for the people that are still owed stuff, and those that got stuck with subpar Chinese junk from these clowns. Other than that, MegaCon can disappear with nary a tear shed here. They are incompetent, deceitful, and never managed to learn a single lesson from their many mis-steps. Good riddance, and beware these guys in the future, should they surface somewhere else.

so sad to see how many people never got everything, or their replacements..

i guess i should consider myself VERY lucky that i got everything, and that my boards were fine, and not in the state that ive heard others were...

    29. Strogar on October 20, 2017

I seriously doubt they have any replacements and at this point what is left of the company is basically being run out of someone's living room since they moved out of the actual office space they were renting.
you can read more about the collapse of the company in the JM KS comments.
if you have not reported this project to KS I would recommend at least that step, some backers have also contacted the Indiana state attorney general about getting some partial refunds for some of the items that were paid for in other KS campaigns and have not been delivered yet.

Still have not received my replacement miniatures. Sent emails, posted requests through the MERCS site, no miniatures and no response to my requests. I guess I am in the same boat as everyone else. I really felt the game had promise, but the lack of support is on a new scale. Poor beyond words.

    31. Kevin H on October 4, 2017

The way ahead is to use a completely different rule set, use rogue star, or even 7tv can use the minis that way and even the boards if yours are not warped and scratched . My KS is sitting unused ,unpainted and at the.mpment unwanted but mabye one day ill try with above rules

Mercs was my favorite game company. Great IPs amazing ideas. But they was a disappointment as managers and now they are dead.

    33. Slyde on October 2, 2017

i played twice.. one game was a complete blowout (way too easy), and the next one was a blowout the other way (we got quickly massacred).

I would still like to give it another shot, under a different scenario to see if i can find this game's sweet spot.

    34. Michael Auty on October 1, 2017

I don’t see us getting anything anymore. I’m disappointed but still if I’m honest I don’t even play the game anymore. I thought the rules were so poor it just wasn’t worth my time and effort trying to learn the game.

As a Myth only backer and a Blood Contagion buyer (not received), I really only want the Myth stuff in there. 10 Infected mini's and 2 tiles... Hoping the Myth contents manufacture with the last wave of JM components...

    38. Kevin H on August 8, 2017

The dice is what I really wanted changed, mine are just blobs and im not sure what they are meant to be.
They are a main componet of the game which means for me its unplayable. Both my boxes and all the other plastic crap is sitting at the back of my wardrobe untouched .A total waste

    39. Slyde on August 7, 2017

      I cant disagree, Kevin...

it just sucks that they wont even come here for one final status, for things like the dice replacements, etc....

just sucks... i like this game, but they really dropped the ball and left us hanging.....

    40. Kevin H on August 7, 2017

Slyde, as far as megacon are concerned we are done and dusted and were no more than a headache
      they wanted rid of.
They deserve to go under ,if you remember there was plenty people trying to help during KS and all they got was abuse from kenny and co , good ridance

    41. Michael Dudek on August 3, 2017

After the Recon disaster and the all but stillborn MERCS 2.0, the MERCS franchise may well be completely dead at this point. It seems if they can survive at all, they want to make Myth junk.

    42. Slyde on August 2, 2017

Its sad that that update didnt really mention Mercs at all.

I'd like the guys to step up and and at least give us one more update here to tell us the final status of this project and the things outstanding...

A Myth update just came out, sounds like MCG is in the process of selling off their assets and waiting for a deal to go through. I don't want to sound pessimistic, but i highly doubt anyone will be receiving anything MERCS related anytime soon, if ever. More likely never. They are struggling just to fulfill the Myth Kickstarter pledges and stretch goals, sorry to everyone involved.

    44. Adam Sirois on July 31, 2017

Yes I'm mad because I paid extra for the blood contagions box and not sent it. Or responded. If it was a SG that I wouldn't care as much.. I paid $30 more to have it shoved up my ass. I started a public petition page in boycott. I will also make sure that what ever company buys Merc shit show of a company will not be receiving any future sales from me or the others signed... We have over 300 signed.

At this point, the likelihood of getting any more MERCS content of anykind seems to be as much pie in the sky as the MegaConners finishing delivery of replacements and stuff they flat out screwed up in this campaign. That is, all but zero.

    49. Slyde on July 11, 2017

just curious... how different is the 2.0 rulebook from what came with the game?

Can anyone point out the major (if any) differences?
