Meet the Sun
I am grateful to find you here!
It has been a long time dream to complete this record. The goal of this project is to raise enough funds to pay for the time in the studio, and the manufacturing of the CD's and tapes. I have found a small independent label in the Burger Record family which will release the album once finished. In the video above you will see what I have been up to while working on this project, and hear some of the tunes. If you feel inspired I am beyond grateful for any donation. Please share this project page with any friends if you feel called to do so.
Meet the Sun is a music project I hold very dearly. Through the course of travels and experiences many muses have surfaced. In their wake they have inspired these songs & poetry. I am so happy to see it all unfolding now.
I am excited to say that I am already in the process of recording. I have put in a lot of hard work & love into creating these songs, and bringing them to life in the studio thus far.
I have met some wonderful folks to play on the record, which will add harp, slide guitar, violin, bass, and piano to the tracks. This is something I have never gotten the opportunity to do, and I am very excited.
The funds raised for this project will be used to :
- Pay the sound engineer for the recording sessions. I have already begun the recording process and laid down rough tracks. We need to finish recording the rest of the tracks, and then go to mastering.
- Pay for the CD's and cassettes, which will be manufactured by Wiener Records, a subsidiary of Burger Records that is set to release the record once finished.
- Pay the session musicians for their contributions to the record. This includes Heather on harp, Eli on slide guitar and violin, Devo on piano, and Joe on bass.
Much love & gratitude,
Risks and challenges
The good news is I have already received confirmation from the label that they will put out the record once I finish the recording process. I have my order form at the ready, and just need to finish up the tracks in the studio so I can send it in to be manufactured into physical form. I have already begun the process in the studio, so all is secure on that front as well. Given these confirmations I see no foreseeable challenges to fulfilling this project. The hardest parts of this project are confirmed, and my next point of focus will be planning a small tour.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
