You Guys are Wonderful! Now let's Talk Extra Rewards!

You guys are wonderful!

6 weeks ago I wrote “We'll come up with extra rewards for Kickstarter backers if we reach $20,265...” and we surpassed that TODAY! So now I am on the hook. Ideas I am throwing around right now include the following:

  • A hiring pool where you can safely store the unemployed nerds and suits while playing (or even when packed away)
  • A Startup Fever branded digital thermometer
  • A tray to roll the dice so your employed nerds and suits are safe from accidental “re-orgs”
  • A coffee mug that fits the stain size
  • A T-shirt?

I don’t want to send you stuff you don’t want, so please use the comments to share your thoughts and propose new ideas.

Hiring pool is a good idea as well.

    2. Creator Crash Games on June 8, 2011

I'm voting for hiring pool for sure.

    3. Creator Drew Den Stanches on June 7, 2011

I'm a fan of cool things but I like the idea of the hiring pool for sure. I am not a fan of a digital thermometer. Can't wait for this game.

Based on this, I am investigating the hiring pool. It's easier to ship than a mugs, the other favorite. In fact, it could fit right into the game box. Right now I am thinking of three small round tin boxes, labelled

      -Engineering Grad School for nerds
      -Business School for suits
      -Bank for money

Kind of what you see here: http://www.google.com/search…

      Thoughts?

I like the idea of a hiring pool to keep the cubes in.
How about an Executive Desk Toy or desk nameplate? You could even do something like Munchkin shirts/bookmarks where the person who has the nameplate/toy/mug gets a bonus for being a Kickstarter backer.

I do like the hiring pool and the dice tray idea as well. I'd be just as happy with a Startup Fever Kickstarter edition T-shirt too.

    7. Creator Ben Gertzfield on May 30, 2011

      Some other ideas:

      * Yelp-style stickers or window clings
      * A special boardgamegeek.com micro-badge (will have to work with the BGG folks for that, but well worth it)
      * Themed sleeves for the cards

    8. Creator HPLustcraft on May 30, 2011

      Er...custom...

    9. Creator HPLustcraft on May 30, 2011

A dice tray (mine tend to go everywhere!) and a T-Shirt if you can come up with something that looks cool...And is black! Or what about cutom Startup Fever dice for the game, or that are Kickstarter only?

    10. Creator Henning Schmiedehausen on May 30, 2011

The hiring pool would fit nicely with the subject of the game. I'd like the mug, too. :-)

    11. Creator Simon Blatz on May 30, 2011

A tray to roll the dice, hiring pool and a t-shirt.

    12. Creator Eric Johnson on May 30, 2011

Coffee mug to fit stain size sounds cool. We could use it to roll dice.

    13. Creator Jackie Howatt on May 30, 2011

      Coffee mug!

    14. Creator Lampshade on May 30, 2011

My vote is for the hiring pool or the tray for rolling. Always nice to compliment a great game with better storage!

    15. Creator Marc Waters on May 30, 2011

The only thing that really fits my fancy here is the coffee mug. I think it would be a hoot if there was a spot for it in the box.

    16. Creator Evan Pulgino on May 30, 2011

      Coffee mug or t-shirt

    17. Creator Joseph Hines on May 30, 2011

I like the idea of the Coffee Mug. I would also be interested in a Tri-Nerd level. Three games for $140 or $150. :-)

    18. Creator Jesper Nielsen on May 30, 2011

Hiring pool sounds excellent, so does the Coffee Mug :)

    19. Creator Jorge Rodríguez Araya on May 30, 2011

      1) Dice tray
      2) Hiring pool

    20. Creator Hans Scharler on May 30, 2011

Coffee mug. Congrats on the making the 20k level. What's the new line that we need to cross?

    21. Creator Stefan on May 30, 2011

      1) Dice Tray
      2) Coffee Mug
      3) Hiring Pool
      4) T-Shirt

    22. Creator Adam Narducci on May 30, 2011

      Dice tray definitely

    23. Creator Gordon Wohlers on May 30, 2011

      1) Coffee Mug
      2) Dice Tray
      3) T-Shirt
      4) Hiring Pool

    24. Creator Mark DiBlasi on May 30, 2011

      My vote for your suggestions:

      1)Dice Tray
      2) Coffee Mug
      3) T-Shirt
      4) Hiring Pool

      Thanks!

    25. Creator Chris D'Andrea on May 30, 2011

Same here Hiring pool or Dice Tray sound like great choices to me.

    26. Creator Martin Boisselle on May 30, 2011

      T-shirt would be nice.
      Hiring pool and tray also.

How about a headband? Special dice...?
      Pencil holder?

    27. Creator Greg Lindahl on May 30, 2011

I hate dice trays, never use 'em. The coffee mug would be great, so that the game owner could lord it over the other players with his special coffee mug...

    28. Creator Bryan Graham on May 30, 2011

I also prefer the hiring pool and/or dice tray. Knowing the people in my gaming group, I'd pick a dice tray out of the 2. I've never understood it myself, but it seems like everyone I game with can't seem to keep their dice on the table, much less out of gameboard components :)

    29. Creator Jacob Coon on May 30, 2011

I agree, hiring pool or dice tray.

    30. Creator Paul Armstrong on May 30, 2011

The hiring pool and/or the dice tray sound like great additions.

The thermometer sounds gimmicky (if you are going to do that, please make it read in Celsius).

Looking forward to the games arriving in my mail.

      Thanks,
      Paul
