About

Welcome to the Meepleverse!

Our new range of 3d printable meeples and terrain tiles are designed to be used with any tabletop system you like.

Please note that this campaign is for 3d printable files, and not the final product. You'll need access to a 3d printer to produce these designs.

The "Basic Dungeon" set comes as the core rewards ($5) and comes with everything shown. The contents all fit snugly in a printable box that doubles as a small keep or series of dungeon rooms.

Why meeples?

Those of you that know our work likely know us for our miniature and terrain designs. We still love all of that fancy stuff (and still create it on the regular). We love breaking out a full-table of dungeons with lovingly painted miniatures to represent every PC, NPC, and monster we could encounter. While this is fun, it's not something we bother with every game, and we wanted something that met the happy medium between functionality and representation for our own games. While they might not be everyone's bag, these are a few of the reasons we've found them to be ideal at our own table:

  • Meeples are easy to print. No support, and you can print them in mere minutes on stock settings.
  • Meeples are smaller, meaning you can get a lot more on your table.
  • Meeples can be used in any number of tabletop RPGs or boardgames, making them universally adaptable. Got some pieces missing from a game or want to replace some generic pieces with something a little more interesting? This has you covered.
  • Meeples are highly portable, and are easy to pack for games on the go.
  • Meeples can be printed (or laser cut) in different color filaments, allowing you to easily color code them. (We'll include SVG files of the meeples themselves for all you laser-heads out there.)
  • Meeples have personality, but not TOO MUCH personality. They work great for identifying a broad range of character types, but aren't so detailed that you're left with a distinct mind's eye impression.

The four meeples currently available in the 5th Edition Pocket-Tactics core set.

We've already gotten a head start on these designs with our first 5th edition Pocket-Tactics set, which you can download on Thingiverse now. As the campaign goes on, we'll release new Pocket-Tactics sets to the public, and your pledges will help that happen.

The 5th edition of Pocket-Tactics is available for free on Thingiverse, and all of the meeples will be fully compatible with that game.
Miniature bases are also available as a free download on Thingiverse. These snap-fit, and there are numeric versions that can be helpful when staging your RPG battles.

What do get?

At the $5 level, backers will get everything shown below. This is the standard dungeon set, which includes heroes, monsters, dungeon tiles, and dressings (such as chests, pillars, and coffins). All of this will fit neatly into a special printable box (which doubles as a terrain piece itself, we might add).

The components included in the Basic Dungeon set.
The box for the Basic Dungeon set which also functions as terrain.

Stretch Goals

Backers at the $10 level will be "all in" on any of the stretch goals we release. This will include bonus sets of meeples and terrain, including some alternate hex terrain tiles and Meeple Tactics, a PDF of simple game rules for running battles between meeple armies.

We'll have more to announce as the campaign progresses! Things currently on the workbench:

  • Way, way more hero meeples
  • Villager meeples
  • More monster meeples (of course)
  • Other tile sets, including wilderness tiles
  • Lots more in the way of "dungeon dressings"
  • More tile boxes, each functioning as it's own building (row houses, tavern, watchtowers, et cetera)
  • More genres. You want sci-fi meeples? Steampunk? Lovecraftian horror? We're on it! Let us know what you'd like to see most in the comments.

Pocket-Tactics Releases

We'll be releasing Pocket-Tactics sets (and other sets with compatible meeples) as the campaign progresses. These will be free releases (as has been the Pocket-Tactics way), and will give you a head start on printing a few of the pieces released through rewards as well.

The core set released for the new 5th edition, this comes with fantasy soldier meeples that can supplement your collection.
The second set release, Kingdoms of Hell, works as an expansion or stand-alone game, and gives a head start on a few of the meeples to be included with the Kingdoms of Hell meeple stretch goal.
Not strictly a Pocket-Tactics piece, this Meepleverse terrain set is now available on Thingiverse as a thank you for hitting the $1,000 mark! Go get it now!

Risks and challenges

We've already made prototypes of most of the designs, so we're on track for a timely release once funding has finished and been processed.
