My first project (which just wrapped up) was for Meeple and dice magnets. I have had a lot of time to ponder new ideas while working on that project - one of which was this current project. I'm not sure why I didn't think of this sooner, but I'm interested to see what happens with it.
I still have plans for leatherwork, but am in the process of seeing what funds are left over from the first project to dedicate towards the new tools I need. (I'm hoping to start alternating projects between gaming crafts like Meeple magnets/beads and some type of leatherwork.) In the meantime, I go with whatever I can think of to try out.
Thus, Gaming Garland was born! I remember having some wooden beads on our tree growing up and I realized that if I really wanted something that stands out and shows off my number one hobby, this would be it! I don't currently have a bunch of these beads made, but you can see their potential in the following photos:
Or, how about this:
I may be seeking out feedback on the string I plan on using (which is waxed thread I use in my leatherwork), but that will come in time!
Risks and challenges
The greatest challenge with this project will be getting items shipped in time for the holiday season. I am confident I can produce the materials, but there is some margin of error due to the time it takes for processing the end of a project. I have allowed a little more than three weeks and the beginning of December so that these issues can be dealt with and items could be shipped in early December.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
