A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
Hi there! We are glad to see that you're having a closer look at our projet.... First things first:
WE'RE BUZZIN' TO WELCOME YOU TO THE MEDIBEE UNIVERSE!
But well.... You might be wondering what we're all about. Let's start by introducing you to Our Vision:
"... to strengthen the lives of people who are affected by dependency and addiction to high risk medication."
As you've probably seen on the news, we are millions who experience medical side-effects and mental health challenges every single day - millions who feel lonely and hopeless because of THE PROBLEM. We are talking about the increasing amounts of medicine being prescribed to all kinds of people - tall & short, young & old, men & women - people in different societies across the world who face similar challenges in life. People who are subject to experiences affecting their mental health. YOU are NOT alone.
But hey... What's MediBee Community? MediBee Community is an NGO, but we are a little different from traditional charity-based organizations. We represent the first digital mental health association grounded in an app for peer-to-peer support. In other words, we are an online community which means that we are not limited to a physical location.
Our goal is to facilitate personal connections among those faced with what are often common, but devastating psychological challenges. We want affected individuals to understand that they are not alone; that they can gain helpful insights from other patients; and that accessing our online resources can become life-changing. But equally important is our commitment to inspire a wider awareness of these conditions and address the disturbing increase of dependency to high-risk prescription medicine that, more often than not, results in severe side effects, harmful withdrawal symptoms, and possibly fatal outcomes.
Great purpose, right? So who can join us? We welcome individuals of all genders, races and socioeconomic backgrounds who undergo medical treatments and experience mental health impacts in their daily lives. We do not discriminate against patients who rely on certain prescription medicines or are at specific stages of their medical treatment.
I receive prescription medicine... What do I have to do as a member of MediBee Community? The cornerstone of a membership is acceptance, empathy and willingness to offer and receive social support. In addition, we represent a connection point for relatives who are indirectly affected by an ongoing medical treatment. We believe it is just as important to involve close ones in our community - after all, we aim to speak about something many people consider a taboo and have a hard time understanding. We are all about reducing common misconceptions associated with mental health. We want to spread positivity and openmindedness.
So that's a brief description of the bigger picture behind MediBee Community. - Addressing the stigma related to mental health? Check! - Uniting people who are affected by similar struggles? Check! - Social app revolving around peer-to-peer support? Tripple-Check!
But WHY?Can't people just use other social media channels? Short answer: Yes. Long and interesting answer: Yes, but....
In a time where many online meeting places seek profit and represent values that can conflict with user privacy (no names mentioned....), the MediBee Community platform is inspired by the groundswell of support groups on other social sites. We have carried out tons of research, and all members in these online groups have one thing common that boils down to a mutual feeling: lack of security! Everybody is seeking SAFE,personal and commercial-free social community. Can you relate?
So how does a brand new app-based community work? Our core activity is to develop an easily accessible social network that offers a safe space for open conversation about mental health – a place where patients and relatives can exchange experiences and perspectives; where mental health sufferers can find support; and where we can all gain a greater understanding of the role that both medical treatments and mental well-being play in our lives.
In terms of structure, we are a membership-based community that is open to anyone who registers and accepts our terms and conditions.
But hey, instead of us explaining all the features, why don't you just go ahead and try the app right now? We welcome both Android and Apple users! PLEASE note that the current version of the app is our prototype - we are in the process of finding bugs, fixing and modifying features based on user feedback in order to co-create the ideal community-based platform.
Yes, we're pretty far. The app is ready for your download. So what is the outcome of your donation to our Kickstarter Campaign? Firstly, your support will allow us to enhance the app and its features. Secondly, you will help us serve as a ‘change-agent’ in terms of our mission to inspire a worldwide effort to work together to promote mental health in ways that are in the best interests of patients and of society as a whole. While antidepressants, psychoactive drugs and opiate pain killers may be helpful in some situations, millions of children, teenagers and adults are routinely prescribed medications that are addictive and can lead to painful symptoms of depression and anxiety (just to mention a few). As a nonprofit organization, we are depending on donations to bring this project into full operation.
Do you want to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health? We sure hope so. Back us beyond Kickstarter by using #BeeToo. Our dedicated followers have already started the movement and sharing their experiences with anxiety, depression or pain. Join us today!

Risks and challenges
We need substantial support to realize our vision. Our biggest concern is that we wail fail; fail to reach individuals across the world who can truly benefit from our initiative, and fail to co-create a digital community with the ones who are already part of our journey.
Back us now, and help us bring about a social change that is desperately needed!
You will receive a personal thank you letter from the MediBee Team, and we will acknowledge your support and help towards reaching our full funding goal by giving you a special member profile in the MediBee Community app with the text "MediBee Kickstarter".
