Summer 1992, Chicago Illinois
Two unsuspecting college students embark to relive an epic Grateful Dead experience from the previous summer only to find themselves entwined in a D.E.A. sting operation targeting Deadheads. Ride the train of deterioration that became the Shakedown Street of the late 1980's until that last summer in 1995 and beyond, ya dig? Cops wearing Birkenstock and Family ratting out fellow heads. Follow two Generation X bros as they embark a journey of enlightenment and inebriation. A roller coaster ride of suspense that will raise the neck hair of anyone who's been to a live show. The story, a lesson in legal boundries that brings to question the war on drugs (policy not band). A jaw-dropping account that will fully explain the meaing of that old Family saying transcribed to the bumper sticker you're familiar: MEAN PEOPLE SUCK.

#TALK #TEXT #SHARE #TWEET
Talking about this book is the most important component on this Kickstarter campaign! Social awareness will set our country free.
I can do my best to start the conversation, but it needs to continue in discussions at bars, cocktail parties, coffee shops, music events and of course social media. This book has been 23 years coming.
Not just Deadheads will find interest in this book, it has wide appeal to a broader mystery/crime/fiction/nostalgia audience. It explores the legal aspects of mandatory minimum sentencing laws as well as showing the tragedy that can befall those entrapped by law enforcement. If you were alive in the 1990's or curious about the 90's, this book is for you.
Risks and challenges
CHALLENGE #1: CAN YOU BELIEVE that TODAY there are still Deadheads locked up for non-violent crimes that occurred on Grateful Dead tour 20 years ago??? I WAS SHOCKED! As a country our biggest challenge is revision to the mandatory minimum sentencing laws. I have put together a $ 65 pledge that will get you a book as well as your State's senator and congressmen and women. On a federal level, I will make effort to get this book in the hands of President Obama and VP Biden in hopes for Presidential pardon(s) before leaving office. I will hand write a list of incarcerated music fans requesting clemency. Obama can read our book on a flight from DC to Hawaii...as a Chicago guy he will love it!
** Through fiction, this book will show the injustice of anyone spending hard prison time for non-violent actions going down during concert tours. **
Beyond the KICKSTARTER : Upon successful kickstarter (July 29th, 4:20PM ...CHEERS!) I will edit character name(s) to reward level sponsors, adjust manuscript print format to facilitate these changes. Have final draft dictated to audiobook thus verifying final draft edit (YAY! I'm a voice actor). Compile thank you page(s) for all Kickstarter supporters (that's you)! Send manuscript to printer. Meet with potential publishers / filmmakers. Assemble packages to kickstarter orders (books, t-shirts, shwag). Fulfill book packets to kickstarter supporters, delivery November 2015. Merry Christmas ! BUCKLE UP KIDS ! ! ! ! Start penning sequel about 2015 Fare Thee Well shows?
