Do you need a little more color in your life? I am here to provide, with EYEPUNCHING FLUORESCENTS that will make your retinas bleed for happiness!
Welcome to the Candy Color Jaguar Universe micro-Kickstarter! In which I (the Jaguar in question) am raising enough money to fund my launch into painting in a new medium, acrylics! It's been many years since I've had the spare time to paint, so I am excited about sharing my adventures with you! But it's because it's been so many years that a lot of my supplies need to be replenished, and that's where you, my fellow color-loving adventurers, come in.
Our goal? $300! That gets us my remaining paint supplies (varnishes, mediums, better brushes), my printer's missing cartridges (which will allow me to print sketches onto acrylic paper so I can paint them!), and professional photography of the insanely bright candy color piece, which broke my scanner. Of course. It has the POWER of SPARKLEJAGUAR. Few things can resist the power of the sparklejaguar.
Our super-long out stretch goal? Is $1500. This pays for the supplies, plus an unanticipated family expense that needed paying recently.
...are wallpapers, postcard prints, and originals! As expected. Plus one person will get lunchbag art from me! I draw lunchbags for my daughter every school day and post them online, and many of you have mentioned wishing that I would do yours as well... this would be your chance!
Are there stretch goals, to help us on our way to that extra goal? I'm glad you asked!
At $700, we unlock the Candy Smirky Jaguar prizes!
I'll be able to photograph this one properly so we can use it for rewards (wallpapers? Postcards? The original itself! We'll see!).
At $1500, it'll be time to photograph the candy bookmark!
This time, a bookmark will definitely be one of the available things to snatch up!
Might I add more prizes? I might! If you stare at these paint colors too long, you start getting loopy...
...is short! Just over a week. But we can do the thing, I bet! The power of fluorescent fur COMPELS us!
On a more serious note: this really is meant to be a little project, something to spackle over the weak spots in my budget. Summer is notoriously bad for royalties (people apparently don't read on the beach during their vacations!) and the unexpected expense was... unexpected! I'm having a great deal of fun learning this new medium, and I'm hoping to share that fun with you for the ten days of the project. I'll keep it quick and silly. We all have enough serious in our lives.
Thanks for stopping by!
Risks and challenges
I think the biggest challenge involved here is that I've never done reproduction of colors this bright. I have every confidence that the firm I've selected to photograph the art and color-correct the scans will produce fantastic results. It's the printing after that I'm not so sure of! But this, I guess, is an experiment we'll have to undertake together. :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
