When the angel Asrial discovers that the halos of the Fallen have been maintained in Heaven against their eventual return, she speaks out against Archangel Michael’s plan to make war on them on Earth. For her insolence, she is driven from grace and ends up in the parking lot of a Jesuit high school. But can she, a priest, a demon, two high school kids and a grackle stop the Apocalypse... and redeem the Fallen?
When I shopped A Rosary of Stones and Thorns around years ago I knew it would be a hard sell. It was a little too earnest for fantasy publishers and a little too outre for religious ones. I was unsurprised at the collection of rejections it garnered and put it away for some other day.
Years later, I offered to serialize Rosary online for my readers at the rate of an installment a week, with an option to buy two extra installments for those who couldn't wait to see what happened next. At that once-a-week speed I figured I'd have new content for readers for most of a year.
I thought that I'd get the occasional extra tip toward accelerating the story, but I wasn't counting on it.
We were done in half that time.
So here we are a few months later. Folks have asked me for a print version. This Kickstarter will pay for the layout, redoing the cover at print resolution, the distribution set-up fees, and the time off I'll need to prepare the materials.
As I say in the video, awesome people made the serialization and e-book versions possible and proved there is an audience for this book, even if it's not an easy one for a marketing department to name. I'm hoping awesome people will make the print copy work too. Let's see what happens next! :)
