In the spring of 2016, I set out on a journey with my friend and producer, Tyler Duncan, to make a record - A record for the hearts of the people. A record to feel with, deeply.
The songs written for this project were born out of deep change and gratitude, grief and courage. The conversation, a very tender, personal and powerful dialog, with acceptance and transition.
We slowly assembled a band of sonic ambassadors to breathe life into this music. That band features Joe Dart on bass, Theo Katzman on drums, Woody Goss, on keys and Josh Pinkham on electric guitar. In August we gathered in Ann Arbor to track these moments live, in a room. For five days we lived in these songs. With great intention, tears, and passion, we poured our love into these songs and captured moments for the ears of the future.
As the record moved through time we were able to include beautiful offerings from so many talented and passionate artists. Antwaun Stanley, Joey Dosik, Lindsay Lou, Rachael Davis, Michael Shimmin, Andrew Kratzat, Jeremy Kittel, Caroline Coade, Gabriel Bolkosky, Martin Guerra, Ben Wulfman, Anna Gilpatrick, and Morgan Lamonica.
Capturing the visual heartbeat of the entire process, John Hanson and DJ Viernes have offered their incredible skills in creating a photo and video landscape for these songs to live in. Caring for this visual realm and creating a world for these images, Eana Apple Agopian will be lending her eye and visual artistry to the graphic design.
The budget for this record is based on paying people real living wages for offering their hard earned talents and gifts to this process. It is based on the belief that the work and time of artists is as valuable as any other occupation. The budget also includes the cost of promotional videos, photos and support to help the album reach as many hearts as possible. In choosing to pay for this record, your patronage supports that belief!
I have never worked harder and more intentionally on a record. Your support of this project will not only bolster this album, but will help me to bring this music to more people and allow me to continue pursuing my life's work as a musician in a sustainable way.
As we meet with greater and greater struggle in the world around us, embracing what is difficult proves more and more important. These songs are made to hold space.
Let us be with this, all of it.
And - Let it be art.
This album will be released this fall, 2017!

Risks and challenges
The challenge of creating inspired music in a world where free streaming is trending is a very real one. I am excited to continue the process of re-valuing music and showing up for that with an intentional patron's mentality.
The last leg of fundraising for this record is very important. The funds raised here will directly help to offset the cost of making this record so that it can be a sustainable and profitable experience.
