UPDATE: This project is fully funded! We have just put up an update for backers only with five special offers ONLY for existing backers! We would love to see this rocket over $6,500 in the last day and have put in some great deals for backers to make it happen!
If you haven't backed this project yet this will be your last chance, only 1 day left!
Since this is FUNDED we can safely say that the game will be coming to the USA and it will be delivering to backers in November, in plenty of time for Christmas.
This game is already popular in Korea and since enjoying it in our own family, we at Mayday Games have been trying to realize a U.S. edition. After much discussion the designer, Justin Oh, has agreed to let us try, provided we gain enough support! Your pledges will help fund the English rules/artwork revisions, as well as to defray some of the manufacturing and shipping costs necessary to make it available to the world outside of Korea.
Watch some friends having a blast with it!
We absolutely fell in love with the game the first time we saw it and have seen many others react similarly. We hope you will too!
Tom Vasel of the Dice Tower says of the game: “It’s a great game for children, good for adults, it’s a good visual effect, it’s a new take on the dexterity [game genre]. Everyone in our family likes Tok Tok Woodman.”
Other Feedback about the game:
"It is great to hear that you are backing this game. My four year old daughter and my seventy one year old father play it together. My kids love it." -Johnny Bones on BGG, UK
"“Winner Winner Chicken Dinner: Toc Toc Woodman. I found this game at the Korean Game Expo booth along with GemBlo. The game is just ridiculously fun as you tap at the different rings trying to remove the brown bark while keeping the white core in place. We came back to the booth every day of the con to try this and others games out…” -Benjro on BGG, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, USA
"This was nuts too. It involved swinging an axe and weird Jenga style goals. It was so silly it was great." -Sheamus Parkes on BGG, Indianapolis, IN, USA
"A really crazy little game that was a big hit with the family. A strange game that was compared to Jenga, but really that is VERY superficial. The only real similarity is that it is a column that toppling results in an end game. Mostly, you will find yourself getting only one point per turn, but my son even got two and three points. Very fun, quick and addicting. I think this will be going on the wishlist!" -Nate Downs, Granville OH, USA

Step 1: Put the bark into the center pieces and stack them on the base (stump).
Step 2: The starting player takes two whacks with the axe and tries to knock off some of the bark from the tree (+1 point) without knocking off any of the center pieces (-5 points)
Step 3: Each player continues to take two whacks with the axe on their turn until all of the bark is gone. When the bark is gone from the tree all players add up their points and the high score is the winner.
Step 4: There is no step four! It’s that easy!
We have various levels of support for the game with lots of great bonuses for you as a patron of Kickstarter!
There are 100 numbered, signed copies available. Each of them will be hand signed by the designer, Justin Oh, in Korea and airmailed to us in advance of the general release of the game! You will get it way in advance too!
With your kickstarter pledge starting at $27 you will also get the special GOLDEN AXE promo item along with the golden axe expansion rules! The Golden Axe expansion comes as a result of several testers saying they wished the game had two axes, it makes playing the game that much quicker, and it also gives you the opportunity for options on your turn. Some of the variants with the Golden Axe include opting to use the Golden Axe for only ONE hit rather than the normal TWO on your turn, but if you do get anything to fall you get double the points! This can help you catch up if you're behind... or kill you if you aren't careful. Several other variants for the Golden Axe will be included in the rules and pictures of the Golden Axe coming soon.
You can also get the special Golden Core and Bark promo, this is a special colored core and bark set that can be used to add many variations to the game, it will include the golden core, four golden bark and suggested variants. This one is GREAT for adding even more strategy to the game! You can put all of the GOLDEN BARK in one section or spread it out over the tree as you prefer. Each GOLDEN BARK is worth 3 points but beware of the Golden Core, it is worth -10 points! You do NOT want to hit the Golden Core off! Additional variants and ideas will be included in the Golden Core & Bark Promo item too!
We have international pickup at no shipping cost available! If you want to pick the game up in Essen Germany during Spiel 2011, just pledge and pick it up at our booth 12-97. You must pick up the game between October 20-23, 2011 in Essen. You must be able to confirm your full name and shipping address as you gave it on Kickstarter to pick up your pledge at Essen.
