Hi! I'm Maya Kern, an illustrator and comic artist. I've run three campaigns on Kickstarter: my comic anthology Hearts, Thorns & Scales, and Monster Pop! Volume 1 and Volume 2. This time I wanted to do something special for Kickstarter's Make 100 campaign, and decided on a limited-edition set of metallic foil prints.
Flower Girls has been a project of love and went through a few different ideas before being born as a print set. I hope you love it as much as I do.
The prints will each measure 8.5x11" and will be printed on heavy cardstock. The series will consist of two prints: Calla Lily and Rose in silver foil. Each print will be hand numbered in editions of 75.
*note: I have added on mobile resolution wallpapers bundled with the desktop resolution wallpapers!
$500: UNLOCKED! unlocks the Calla Lily process video for everybody!
$1000: UNLOCKED! unlocks the Rose process video for everybody!
$1500: UNLOCKED! unlocks a new postcard set tier! At $1500 a tier will be added for both the non-foiled prints as postcards, and they will be available as add-ons for backers!
- Use an email you check regularly - updates to the kickstarter, reward tiers, and shipping will be sent via kickstarter to your email
- Fill out the final survey - shortly after the end of the campaign I will send out a backer survey for you to complete. You need to fill out this survey to receive your rewards. I don't know where to send your rewards to if you don't give me your address!
- International backers are responsible for additional customs fees and import tax - I have no control over, nor can I anticipate, additional fees from your country
Risks and challenges
This will be my fourth kickstarter. I'm fully prepared to fulfill rewards and I've already calculated shipping cost for US, Canada, and other international pledges, as well as chosen the shipping materials for each tier and location. Any delivery can get a little banged up, especially international orders. I've got packaging requirements all figured out to prevent any serious damage from occurring in the first place, and I'm ordering a few extra copies to make up for lost or damaged mail!
The prints are formatted and ready for production. I am using a manufacturer I have used in the past for foil prints.
My wife and I have set aside time to ship everything off in a timely manner! I practiced transparency in my previous kickstarters as far as receiving items, packing them and bringing them to the post office, and I plan to do so for this campaign as well. During fulfillment for my last kickstarter we had some challenges including a major car accident, unexpected surgery, and a last-minute long distance move, but even with all that rewards were sent out on time. I've given myself the same time period in case of another emergency!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
