Happy New Year! Gratitude, and an update!

Hello backers!

I just wanted to send a note of gratitude as we begin 2018 for making Bread Head possible. We are desperately trying to finish the film, and have achieved a final cut which we are submitting to film festivals right now.

The film is still without final graphics or music, and has not gone through post production (color correction, sound mixing) yet. We are still fundraising to allow this all to happen, but also believe that in its current state, it is screenable to festival programmers, with the intent that the opportunity to premier at a festival will bring fundraising and distribution opportunities.

While we'd love to send it out in its current form, we want your first experience of the film to be as good as possible, and so will need just a little more patience from you! I promise that it will be worth it.

Within the next few months we hope to complete the project, and have a sense of where the world at large can view this urgently needed documentary which you have no doubt helped bring to life.

In other, more personal life news, in between editing sessions, film shoots, fundraising, and research for Bread Head, I have been secretly working on another project which will be a highly prescriptive independent work AND companion for Bread Head. The truth is, I've learned so much over the course of filming and interviewing for Bread Head—more than could ever be contained within a movie—and I'm excited to get to share all of my findings with you very soon.

In a perfect world, funding and timing for Bread Head would have allowed the film to come out first (since my team and I have been working on it for what feels like forever and I want nothing more than to show you it). But I also believe that one must try to trust the natural timing of things. You can be sure that this new project (the details of which will come soon) contains a particular acknowledgement for backers of Bread Head.

Thanks for reading, hanging in there, and I hope you have the best 2018, in health, prosperity, and happiness. Talk very soon.

      ax,
The project has gotten bigger and bigger and you're taking on "new projects." As one of your enthusiastic backers, I feel like we've been put last in line, promised delivery, but no output in sight. If it's good enough for film festivals, it's good enough for me. I signed on to get a finished product that I can share with relatives who are sliding down the slippey slope to dementia and Alzheimers. Maybe backers could have an option of now or wait, or an option to have a digital preview version. I like your guidelines below here: be respectful and considerate. I'm thinking that would make a great key beliefs model for how to treat backers. Thanks for listening... Tom
