The card game
Wolfbite is a well designed and fun to play card game where the goal is to get rid of all your cards. Players take turns drawing cards, when two identicals cards are visible, the first player to reach the center of the target gives his cards to the loser. Seems pretty easy ? We added a bunch of special cards to make things more interesting ;)
As you play the game gets really intense - the number of cards on the table increase - your chances to loose the game too ! You really need to maintain your focus during the 10-15 minute game.
The game was created by Maxime Germain and Mathilda Conversy. We wanted to create a game that we think is well designed and fun to play - we can’t make it a reality without you and this Kickstarter campaign.
If you're into card games, board games, or meditation (yes, meditation!), please help us make this game a reality. We think you'll have as much fun as we do playing with it.
- Maxime and Mathilda.
How to play
The pack of cards is dealt between every wolf.
The cards are placed face down in front of each player, these are their “safe” cards. Moving clockwise, each player will flip their cards onto a new deck of cards which are their “peril” cards.
As soon as two identical cards are visible, the players with these cards must each put their finger at the center of the target.
The player who lands his finger closest to the center of the target can give his deck of “peril” cards to the other player. The other player must add them to their pack of safe cards.
Throughout the game some special cards will crop up, forcing the wolves to form alliances and avoid enemies.
Thanks so much everyone! As after 1 day we're already fully backed - we decided to add more fun and more cards to the game.
Here is what can be unlocked in the next days:
- 7 years old and plus
- 60 cards
- 2-6 players
From testing intensively the game we recommend 2-4.
The number of cards doesn't include the upcoming special cards. ;)
We are two passionate designers that have accomplished a wide range of different works. These show us to be a great team with complementary skills.
Maxime started a web agency at 16 and created an award winning online game called “Ce soir, il conclut.“ with Ninth Pole Media and Cohn & Wolf. He is cofounder and head of design of Gertrude, an online platform that hosts Art events in more than 15 cities in the world and ArtList an online marketplace for people to buy and sell fine art. He has recently built Mado, a lamp that changes its color according to the weather.
Mathilda studied Interaction and Moving Image at London College of Communication. During her University years she also taught children filmmaking and Animation. She was selected to exhibit at a Late Night Event at the Science Museum in London, the piece was a performance, she wrote, casted and directed. After that she worked for a Creative Startup named Gitoon, and a renowned Gallery, The John Davies gallery in the Cotswold. Recently she won an award from the “Formation Company” to build a laser cutting startup.
Risks and challenges
As far as the design of Wolfbite, everything has been completed and tested. Wolfbite is suitable as a quiet family evening in, a summer camp activity for teens or a late night party game amongst friends.
We have already produced prototypes that you can see in the video.
The quality of the cards is already high, but we are really looking forward to being able to print a greater number of cards so that the quality will increase. For example, we are hoping to produce varnished cards that are stronger and can last longer.
We are already prepared to manufacture and ship up to 10,000 decks of cards, so we're very confident we will be able to supply them within our deadlines (1 month after the end of the campaign).
The largest remaining challenge is the production of the cards' packaging (what we are able to do will depend on final number of orders we receive through kickstarter). We're aiming to create a beautiful card box to go along with the deck - but this will depend on quantity we produce. We will keep everyone updated during the campaign around this.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
