A great thriller taps into the anxieties of its time. This one happened to be shot during the 2016 presidential election. Our movie follows an idealistic group of young people as they are betrayed by their own startup. They become divided. Uncertain. Disillusioned...
...in Silicon Beach, LA's more sinister Silicon Valley.
We are producing a 90-minute, theatrical quality movie for worldwide distribution -- and it is completely shot already! You can help us follow through on the movie by contributing to funding a rigorous post-production process, first and foremost a great Editor.
Our core team are film makers with a proven track record of compelling genre movies on a tight budget. (We have also each successfully funded previous films on Kickstarter!)
Producer Max Silver premiered his film Trunk Space at this year's Austin Film Festival.
Lead Actor credits include Pitch Perfect, Modern Family, Jane the Virgin, Army Wives, and Disney's Frozen - Live.
Our team was able to produce this movie on a shoestring budget because of the generosity of colleagues and friends. Our footage exceeded everyone's expectations so we are seeking your support to follow through with strong post-production.
Post-production will make or break any movie, but it is paramount to building the tense atmosphere of a thriller. Funds raised from this campaign will be used to pay our Editor, Patrick Lawrence. Patrick's film Affections will premiere at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.
If we are fortunate enough to exceed our $5,000 goal, further funds raised will support the film's Composer, Sound Designer, Colorist, festival submission fees and the generation of final deliverables for distribution. You can see a more detailed breakdown of our stretch goals further down this page. But for now, we are just putting one foot in front of the other!
AFTER POST (DISTRIBUTION!)
We have a three month editing schedule, then a two month finishing schedule. We have targeted younger prestige festivals with deadlines in Q3 of 2017, including South by Southwest, Slamdance, and the LA Film Festival. Other festivals aligned with our genre include the San Francisco International Film Festival, Reykjavík International Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, and Cinequest.
...are divided into two categories: 1) for the audience and 2) for fellow film makers.
Audience rewards include advance screeners of the film, access to behind the scenes materials, and credit on the film.
Film maker rewards include a window into the creative process of the Writer/Director and Cinematographer, invitations into the editing suite during post-production, and of course credit on the film.
Everything helps! If you aren't in a position to contribute, we are grateful for whatever you can do to get our campaign into the hands of someone who might be.
We are always available to answer any questions or provide further insight into our movie and fundraising process. Feel free to message us via the campaign, or shout out on Twitter:

Funds from the initial campaign goal of $5,000 will be used to pay our Editor's salary to achieve a first cut of the film. But if we are fortunate enough to exceed this goal, then further funds will be put to the following use:
Broken down in chronological order:
The Editor's salary will be extended to cover his full tenure on the film, including later revisions following notes from screenings.
Our Sound Designer will jump on board during the edit and have the flexibility to do several passes.
Our Composer will get to work during the editing process and work closely with the post team to create a unique score. (You can already hear the beginnings of Matt's score in our teaser!)
Following picture lock, Max and Stephen will take the movie to a superior Colorist and use their facilities to pursue theatrical-grade picture quality.
Risks and challenges
Our team faced many unique risks and challenges pulling this film off on such a tight budget. There may even have been a few narrow escapes from the LAPD. But now that we've wrapped production on Silicon Beach, the finish line is in sight.
Our final challenge stands right in front of us: executing thorough and high quality post-production.
When crowd-funding a film, a common risk is that the production process becomes delayed while the team secures further funding. But because we've already shot Silicon Beach, we are in the lucky position of being able to engage backers and offer delivery of most perks immediately following the campaign.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
