Our Goal: A Thousand Ice Cream Cones
We want to buy a thousand strangers some ice cream. And make a little movie of it.
Why? Because it's summer, and everyone loves ice cream, and it would be fun to buy a thousand people ice cream. We're not changing the world here, there will be no TED talk, we promise. We just think it would be a great thing to do with a weekend of our lives.
Where's the Money Going?
Well, for starters, it's buying the ice cream. We managed to talk some acquaintances with a great ice cream shop in Denver called Sweet Action into letting us stage this crazy thing there, but we don't want to ask them to forgo their revenue for the day. So we're buying ice cream.
We're also paying for our transportation out from Los Angeles, and our director's transportation from New York, plus other expenses like equipment rental and a place to stay. We'll either hire local crew to help or bring someone from LA or New York, based on what's cheaper. None of the three of us will take any pay from the project, though we'll probably pay the crew.
How Will I Benefit?
All summer, you can watch the video and think about the little awesome thing you did - buy someone some ice cream that you didn't even know. And we'll be passing out notes with the cones, so you'll actually be buying a specific person a cone.
Risks and challenges
We've already lined up our venue, and they've assured us they can do the ice cream making and scooping. Any video project can have production delays, but we have an accomplished, Webby award-winning director and will be hiring a pro crew. We think this is going to be a blast.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
