When you run, where do you put your key?
Do you squeeze it in the tiny “built in” pocket in your shorts? Tie it on your shoe lace or pant string? Do you simply grasp it in your hand? Or maybe your a risk taker and you hide it underneath your doormat?
How many times have you wished the annoying key jingling was not the soundtrack of your running? Or even worse, you completed your jog, felt energized and a minute later all good vibes have vanished because you have just realized you lost your house key!
Do you often lose your locker key when you are at the gym or in the swimming pool?
Do you keep your locker key loose in a pocket or on you wrist or ankle with a poorly designed strap? Often drop it when you are at the gym or leave it behind?
Keybud is an elegant silicone key holding bracelet that conceals your key when you are out and about. This accessory is not only stylish but serves a purpose. While there are many work arounds for storing keys, none of them offer a worry free experience. Keybud alleviates this running stressor and brings peace of mind to your jog or workout.
Keybud´s unique design allows for a safe and comfortable way to carry your key while on a run or any key holding occasion, so you will be able to stop worrying and engage in your workout and finally have peace of mind.
The key is easy to insert and is fully concealed when the bracelet is closed so no one needs to know your wrist band’s secret. The minimalistic design makes Keybud easy to wear when working out or from day to day. The silicone rubber is sweat proof, flexible, stretchy, and resistant to water.
Your funds will help us get Keybud into production. They will help pay for the tooling of our molds and casting of our product as well as incidentals such as packaging and shipping. By pledging 12 pounds you are pre-ordering a Keybud and helping make our product a reality.
With the 8,000 pounds we are creating 2 different keysize bracelets (small and large) in 2 colors ( Turquoise and red). Please use the sizes below to determine the right size for your keybud. The bracelet fit is a one size only and works for all wrists.

It took us more than 7 months and a dozen prototypes to get the Keybuds just right. Check out some of the pictures below to see our progress:
Axel visited our manufacturer in China just out of Shenzhen, where Keybud will be produced. We've spent the last year working hard finding factories, coordinating assembly of the final product, and working on establishing a relationship with the factory. Axel also made sure that the factory follows safe and fair labor conditions. We've finalized the product design and developed working prototypes, and during the first tooling we will personally fly to our factory and carefully oversee that the production is done correct.
Factory has documentation for following standards and certificates:
- ISO Environment Certificate 14001:2004 Standard
- ISO Quality Certificate 9001:2008 Standard
Slicone, FDA - Approved

The Sportsbud Team
Axel and Max both attended Uppsala University just outside Stockholm. As students, they would stay up into the night bouncing around business ideas, discussing the impacts of innovation and annoying their fellow roommates. As the project developed David joined the team. David and Max got to know each other while they where doing their exchange semester at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.
Axel works with product development and manufacturing in China. Max is responsible for sales strategy and has an overall management role. David will help with the growth of the company by his sales experience and entrepreneurial mindset.
Sports and health is starting to evolve around digital and innovative solutions. We want to be a part of that through combining innovative design and solutions to the health and sport sector. Releasing out first project on Kickstarter will hopefully lead to a future where innovation and brilliance can take form.
We would like to give our special thanks to the industrial designers at HUE Studio and Oscar Söderberg for helping us with concept development and the great product design. Also big thanks to Ludwig Hallstensson and Sean Eriksson for making our movie presentation and product pictures.
Risks and challenges
One of the biggest challenges would be production delays. As we are going to be conducting mass production, there may be delays that cannot be foreseen, for example raw materials being delivered late or something going wrong with the actual machinery being used.
To prevent this we will personally go to the factory at regular increments, from when production starts and then throughout. Furthermore, we will also get some help from a legal adviser with setting up all necessary paperwork between us and the factory to prevent mistakes and misunderstandings.
We feel the most effective way to overcome potential problems is to be hands on, be involved with the decision making processes from start till the finish. Also, to build up a strong working relationship at all points of production is a necessity. Trust is incredibly important when dealing with manufacturing plants and we feel that building trust will help us to produce an outstanding product regardless of what happens.
We have produced a prototype with the factory that we are going to use for the manufacture of the product. This process taught us a lot about the processes and routines that are needed in mass production. It has also given us a great working relationship with the manufacture.
The most important point to take from the challenges or obstacles that we might face is, that we learn from them, to make sure they don't happen again.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
