In 1851, Herman Melville published an account of a white whale that rampaged through the high seas. The beast, known as Moby Dick, destroyed numerous boats and cost many sailors their lives. The end of Melville's account saw Moby Dick disappearing into the ocean.
Today, the whale is back.
Moby Dick: Back from the Deep tells the story of the legendary white whale reappearing as a zombified beast in modern times and wreaking havoc on the waterways near an unsuspecting beachfront community. It's a webcomic available online at backfromthedeep.com, and with the imminent completion of the first issue, we'd like to deliver digital and printed copies to readers everywhere!
First Stretch Goal - $500: Reached!
If we reach this, we'll add an extra "behind the scenes" page featuring original character sketches of Moby Dick, Katherine and more (including a character was haven't seen yet), not to mention interviews with the creators on their creative process and just how in the world this crazy story was inspired.
Second Stretch Goal - $700: Reached!
If we reach this, we'll include full-color cover art for the upcoming issue #2 on the back cover, which will offer a tantalizing teaser (how's that for alliteration) of the horrors yet to come.
Risks and challenges
The one and only risk is reaching our Kickstarter goal. The pages are already done, so once the funds are secured, we're ready to send all those rewards to our supporters!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
