I never asked for a refund why was a refund given back to me for the case so you're telling me I'm not getting a case because I got a refund that I never ask for refund

      The project has been relaunched!

      Dear Supporters,

Thank you again for pledging your support and money towards my project. As the funding period comes to a close, I have found myself with just over 220 backers and over 50 percent of my funding goal. Although this is amazing, and I have been humbled by the amount of enthusiasm this idea has generated, it seems as if I will fall short of the original funding goal.

But that's not the end of the story!!! Recently, a business angel has amazingly agreed to put up 50 percent of the funding for the project! As a result of this, Kickstarter has given me the opportunity to restart the project with a 50 percent lower goal. If this goal is met, I will be able to produce the product, meaning that you will receive your case! The original project will be closed, and nobody will be charged anything from their credit cards. I ask you now to please add your original support instead to the new project. Nothing has changed about the rewards for levels of support, or the quality and design of the product. Same prices, same cases! If everyone re-pledges, we will meet the funding goal right away!

The old backers will support the new project will receive a special surprise inside the case.

The realization of this project has been a dream of mine for a while, and I thank you for your continued support. Let's get it made!

    3. David Di Troia on January 12, 2013

@Keith Good ideas, a smaller one of an ultrabook or even an ipad, and yes a bigger one for a 15" with a charger, or large 17".

      Best of luck Mattia

In fact, I will present the new project Monday. I let you know.

@Mattia, if you are planning on resubmitting this project, there are probably a few options worth looking into:
      - More color options (black, silver at least)
      - More size options (larger case for 17" laptops, smaller case for 15" and less)
      - More pledge options (per the backer's comments below)

Just a few thoughts on what could drive more folks to help fund this. I really hope this project gets backed at some point.

      Rescla on January 12, 2013

From what I've heard of him he's planning on resubmitting this to Kickstarter, he has yet to announce it publicly though. I highly doubt it will get funded in the next three days so resubmitting would probably be the best option.

The backpack is still available as an add-on for £29 but I think it could also be offered separately. I've looked around and I can't really find anything that allows you to carry around a case like a backpack.

    8. Luke Stevenson on January 12, 2013

@David, as I said, it is the Kickstarter Owner who seems to be absent in alot of this. They need to engage the community more to drive the success, rather than other backers trying to do so.

    9. David Di Troia on January 12, 2013

@Luke, I've tried to spread the word but it's really up to Mattia.

    10. Luke Stevenson on January 11, 2013

I fear that, unless the Kickstarter Owner for this project, Mattia, starts driving more publicity for this project and/or releasing additional pledge options such as those noted by some of my fellow backers, it will fail to achieve its goal.

    11. Pisan Kulkaew on January 11, 2013

I think the problem me and many others didn't pledge for this project is because of the weight and the size. If you offer a smaller version which only fits upto 15.5" laptops and work out a way to reduce the weight without compromising performance then It'd be really good. It doesn't matter if it's a bit more expensive but I really don't think those who are using Macbook Air because it's a lot lighter than typical laptop would buy a case that weigh 1.3kg Just a thought...

Do you have another plan if there is not a rush of funding in the next three days? I would like this amazing case for traveling so that I do not have to worry about my computer and have my hands free. Thank you for creating such an amazing product.

Is there any way to extend the time limit for a kickstarter project? I'm sure with more time this would get funded.

how about offer a multiple reward, pledge for a second case for £49?
so basically if 200 current backers pledge thats a total of £9800.
      short of £5122
personally i wont mind getting second case for £49 and importantly get this project funded!

    16. Laura MakeTank on January 7, 2013

Backed this interesting project of the Italian young Mattia. We hope you succeed: we are sharing hard from our FanPage and soon on MakeTank magazine.

How about set an offering of £19 for backpack?
If all current backers add it, it will move the total pledge much higher.
This might be a huge incentive to spread words around for our friends as more new backers.

£17,034 to go! Tell your friends about ViVAX and let's get this project funded!! I want my carbon fiber model asap haha

    19. Laura MakeTank on January 4, 2013

Hi. We've just backed this interesting (and rare) Italian project.
It will be perfect on www.maketank.it when ready!
Go on Mattia! We're with you :-)

I agree with Lynn. Updating the main picture might get some more attention. My thoughts are that more people would be interested in the blue color. I really hope this product gets fully funded! Thanks.

      on December 31, 2012

Maybe you can change the picture showing the public to catch more interest. I saw one of the other projects do that to attract another group of people to look at it or for others to give it another try. Just a suggestion. Thank you.

    22. Mattia Ventura 2-time creator on December 30, 2012

      Hi there.
In production, the velcro backed central strap will hold your laptop securely in place. Also, high density strips of foam attached to the inside of the case will add further stability by sandwiching the laptop securely but gently in the case. Even the thinnest laptops will be safe inside the case.

    23. Alter EGO aka Markus K. on December 29, 2012

Hi, due to the different laptop sizes that will be carried, you should be thinking of some kind of mounting inside of your case.

    24. Cameron Cooke on December 29, 2012

Where would you store the laptops power supply and cable?

    25. Mattia Ventura 2-time creator on December 28, 2012

Ciao David, thanks for your wishes.
No, there are no updates about the velcro strap. I hope to write something new soon.
The shoulder strap will be made of nylon.
It is a bit difficult for me to add any further accessory.
We need to spread the voice as much as we can. This project needs your help. I am doing everything i can these days.
      Happy new year to everyone!

    26. David Di Troia on December 25, 2012

Ciao Mattia and Buon Natale, I was wondering is there any update or pictures of the internal 'velcro backed central strap', and also what is the shoulder sling carrier strap made from, is it comfortable?

Also is there any chance to add a removable [via Velcro] mesh pocket for storage?

I think after Xmas we will have to spread the word more.

      This project is wonderful!

    28. Kane Harrison on December 8, 2012

I hope this project gets funded, it's a great looking case for my MacBook.
You should consider doing one of these specifically for the iPad, it would absolutely fly out of the door.

      2 questions:
      - How to order a "Computer case with carrying strap" AND a "Handy backpack carrying system for Laptop Case" (I guess to pledge 88,- GBP ?)
      - Do you have a photo of the Case in action with the Handy backpack system?

      Thanks... Chris

    30. Mattia Ventura 2-time creator on December 8, 2012

Yes, it would be for that and for "durable", "resistant".

    31. David Di Troia on December 8, 2012

Vivax, Latin for vivacious? I like it.

    32. Mattia Ventura 2-time creator on December 8, 2012

      Thank you David,
We are about to produce the velcro backed central strap, that will hold your laptop securely in place. Also, high density strips of foam attached to the inside of the case will add further stability by sandwiching the laptop securely but gently in the case.

    33. David Di Troia on December 8, 2012

@Sue maybe Mattia can introduce some straps to keep a ultrabook type laptop in place.

    34. David Di Troia on December 8, 2012

Yes the dell is big laptop, and a inch or so too deep. I was thinking of an Italian name for the product name, but Latin sounds cooler :)

      Happy to help

    35. Mattia Ventura 2-time creator on December 8, 2012

I'm sorry for the mistake, actually the Dell XPS is too large for the case.

    36. sue anne on December 8, 2012

      Hey Mattia,

Greetings from Sweden! I agree with the name Fortis for the case, although you might want to check the intellectual property of that name. I have a macbook air 11" actually, not too sure if this case is ok for the thin laptop, but i suppose i can use it for other laptops

    37. Mattia Ventura 2-time creator on December 8, 2012

No, this is perfect for the XLS 17.

Fortis is a good good name! Is a great latin word. Maybe I will use a latin word.

      Thank you for the idea.

The weight is less than 3 pounds.

      Thanks again!

    38. David Di Troia on December 8, 2012

I think my Dell XPS 17 is a little to deep for this case, but I will still pledge for one for other uses.

    39. David Di Troia on December 8, 2012

How about Fortis for the Case name.

      Fortis Latin for tough.

    40. Riccardo on December 7, 2012

Mattia, buona fortuna, mi sembra un ottimo progetto. Tanti auguri

Paul Shabian on December 7, 2012

      How about the weight?

    45. Mattia Ventura 2-time creator on December 7, 2012

Thank you for your support, this is very important for me and for this project.

      The internal dimensions are:15.5" x 10.8" x 2.1" (L x W x H). The external dimensions are:17" x 12.6" x 3" (L x W x H).

I am currently thinking of a name for this project and this product, as i have spent most of the time working out the design! If you have any great ideas for the name of the product or brand, let me know!

      Thanks again!

    46. David Di Troia on December 6, 2012

      Also what's the Case/Brand/Company name?

    47. David Di Troia on December 6, 2012

      Caio Mattia,

What are the internal dimensions? Just wondering if my laptop will fit. Also I think the orange Colour is the best, Dark blue looks kind of plain, maybe a more Azzurro blue?

      Buona Fortuna
