This short film/music video is set to the song, "Lengua de la Muerte" by The Illness, and tells a dark tale of unrequited love.
Filmmakers Joshua B. Porter and Matthew Donaldson, together known as "The Bushmen", are creating a short film/music video for the San Francisco based band, The Illness, and their song "Lengua de la Muerte," off their upcoming full-length album, "A Monument To Our Gilded Age."
The story is set in the present day, but has two "mind's eye" environment scenes akin to the Dawn of Man period of time. We were inspired by the ancient Persian poem, "Layla and Majnun" by Nizami Ganjavi, and have incorporated the base elements of unrequited love from that tale into this concept. Some believe that this poem also inspired "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare.
