About this project
Can The Five Survive... Again?
P5YCH is a gory, fun, fast paced horror film co-written and directed by award winning actor/filmmaker Matthew Currie Holmes. Our intention is to shoot P5YCH late summer 2012 (for a 2013 release).
We've already shot a kick ass short film/extended trailer to pitch to potential investors. To view the short please click HERE
Matthew and co-producer Tiffany J. Shuttleworth are raising $20k in start up funds for the development of P5YCH. With these funds, we will finalize our business plan, meet with interested investors, begin casting, pay staff for their hard work, recoup expenditures and start making the feature length film.
**Please note in the rewards section the term "and above" excludes limited edition items, thank you.**
It’s 1984. The five survivors, whose experiences inspired the five scariest movies of all time, are undergoing experimental treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder. It went horribly wrong.
You think you know their stories.
You think you know what happened.
The movies got it all wrong.
The truth is much more terrifying.
Sandy King, Eric Talbert, Debbie Hill, Amanda Collins and Bobby White have been scarred so badly and terrified so brutally they each reside, permanently at the Milton Armstrong Wellness Centers, a nationwide series of hospitals specializing in the treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Mentored by Dr. Rick Gilbert, The Five take their therapy to a whole new level when they leave the confines of their respective wellness centers and travel to the secluded McMurtrey Ranch. There, they engage in an experimental, psycho-kinetic treatment known as Stage Seven, which allows them to come face to face with their worst fears: their most suppressed memories.
When the memories and fantasies turn real, and the body count begins to rise, the five must band together to survive again… or die trying.
P5YCH is a thrilling new chapter in the ‘meta’ slasher film genre. By using the paradigms of some of the greats, P5YCH is able to both pay homage to the classics as well as create a new, terrifying mythology for horror fans to enjoy.

Stills from the extended trailer:
The plan is to shoot P5YCH in the late summer/early fall. We're in the process of attaching some pretty cool movie stars AS WE SPEAK.
A Nightmare On Elm Street, Friday The 13th Part 3, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween and Sleepaway Camp.
No. Our screenplay has been vetted and it is not in violation of any copyright.
We are not saying that these are the five survivors of the five films; we're suggesting that elements of their "real life" traumas influenced, in one way or another, the five famous horror films.
Below are two examples of what WE SAY really happened. Of course all of this is fiction.
NOTE: SPOILERS BELOW
WHAT REALLY HAPPENED: In 1980 Sandy King was in a car with her friends on Prom Night when recently fired, crazed groundskeeper, Wolf Kraeger, kidnapped them and murdered her friends using a 3 pronged hand cultivator/gardening tool.
WHAT HOLLYWOOD DID: The producers of A Nightmare On Elm Street read about what happened, saw the murder weapon and then were inspired to create child serial murderer Freddy Kruger, complete with his trademark razor sharp glove.
WHAT REALLY HAPPENED: In 1981 Eric Talbert went up to Big Bear California to party with his hockey team.... the goalie got wasted on PCP and killed his teammates, beating them to death with a goalie stick.
WHAT HOLLYWOOD DID: In the paper there was a picture of the goalie mask under the heading: "Goalie Kills Teammates." Two years later Paramount Pictures released Friday The 13th part 3 the first film to show their franchise star Jason Voorhees sporting a goalie mask. This was credited to the night that changed Eric’s life forever.
