WHAT IS THE JOURNAL?
The Yes And Journal operates on a simple premise: The skills that make us better improvisers can also make us better people. The journal takes the philosophies of improv offstage-- helping us become more grateful, accepting, brave, and happy people through daily journaling prompts. Anyone who has ever experienced improv knows this feeling, but with The Yes And Journal, you can reinforce these ideas whether you performed today or not.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The journal seeks to break down all that is valuable and life-changing about improv into a set of solo written exercises that can be taken anywhere. It is made up of daily prompts and free write exercises designed to redirect our energy and focus towards the important things in life. These are similar to what you might see in any improv workshop- saying yes to those around you, finding moments to be proud of, giving yourself permission to make strong choices, etc. With The Yes And Journal, these ideas can be reinforced and applied to everyday situations.
BUDGET AND TIMELINE - HOW CAN I GET A COPY?
This project is dependent on the energy and support of the improv community. Self-publishing a book will always have its challenges and fees, but if this campaign reaches its goal, the book will be made available on Amazon. The expected date for that launch is October 2017, and a link to the Amazon order will be posted then. If you want to pre-order a copy and have it signed by me with a personalized note, all the perks above $50 include that.
SPECIAL UPDATE - 15 DAYS LEFT VIDEO:

LAUNCH PARTY IMPROV SHOWS
On August 11st at Showtime Comedy Theatre in St Catharines (SOLD OUT!) and August 26th at the Pelham Bandshell (7:00-9:00PM), we will be hosting improv shows to celebrate everyone who has contributed to the campaign. Tickets are available through this kickstarter or at the door for both shows. If you are unable to attend the shows, we will also be streaming them live on this Kickstarter page for you to watch at home!
Risks and challenges
My estimations have shown that I should be able to ship all copies of the journal by mid/late October. If a longer delay comes up through the publishing company or on Kickstarter's end, I will communicate any of these delays with backers so they are aware. Should any challenges arise, I'm not worried. I'm an improviser.
