We got distribution!

Hey guys. Wanted to send us this update to let you know what has been going on in "The Last Fall" universe as of late. The biggest news is that we signed a distribution deal with Image Entertainment! They will be handling our non-theatrical rights so television, DVD, VOD, digital (Itunes, netflix, red box, etc.) so look for our film to be available to purchase and rent real soon. We are also exploring some theatrical options now to bring our film to a theater near you soon so look out for that as well. If I were to give a timetable I would say look for us to be in limited theaters around Novemeberish and look for us to be available everywhere else around Jan/Februaryish.

We played as the opening night film of the Roxbury International FIlm Festival and we were in narrative competition at the 2012 American Black FIlm Festival these past few months. We were nominated for Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director and Lance and Nicole were nominated for Best Actors. I ended up winning the best screenplay award at ABFF and dedicated the award to my parents which you can see here.

We also were featured in the 2012 Sony brochure for our use of the Sony F3 camera which we used to shoot our film. They gave my DP and me a two page spread and included a behind the scenes image of our film in the brochure. And we were also nominated for the 2012 Saatchi & Saatchi "Nothing Is Impossible" Producers Award at the 2012 Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival. Really major stuff!

Now onto business. We have a deadline of July 31st of when we have to turn in our final movie to Image Entertainment. We have sent out several surveys to collect everyones information, mainly spellings of your names and email addresses and we are still missing about a hundred peoples information. If you are in the group to get your name included in the credits we emailed out a contract that needs to be signed and returned as soon as possible and before July 23rd so that we can include your names in the credits. Once we get all of the proper information we can begin to send out the gifts to you. For everyone who is in the dvd or digital download group, again, you will get a "free" copy once it's available to the public but not before (trying to cut down on potential piracy).

Moving forward we have a few more film festivals lined up, Martha's Vineyard and Black Harvest in Chicago and possibly ones in LA and NYC. We're gonna need all of your help and support once we finalize our theatrical plans and I hope to be able to work with you all to bring this great project to the world.

Thank you so much for your support and check your emails and send us your information! Talk soon.

It never occurred to me that a Kickstarter would back a film project so they could pirate it or allow someone else to do so. I think I'll pass on getting my"free" copy just to be safe.

Matt - who would the contract email be coming from? Kickstarter or another name? Thanks in advance!
