NOTE #2: Everyone who contributes will also be mentioned in the film and photo book credits.
My first idea for the Belle Isle Project was a documentary film. While I still want to produce a short, 15 to 30 minute film, it is no longer the project's primary objective.
Before I fully introduce the project, I should introduce Belle Isle, Detroit's crown jewel. Belle Isle Park. Belle Isle is an island on the Detroit River in between Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario. It was established in 1845 and is 982 acres; that makes it 12 years older (in establishment) and 139 acres larger than New York's Central Park.
The Belle Isle Project, overall, is a photography project that shows Belle Isle as it is, and how I want to show it.
My main focus is creating a photo book. The book will be 40-80 pages long, and will be printed via www.shutterfly.com. In the rewards section, I've considered the approximate cost for me to print the books and priced accordingly.
And, for people on smaller budgets, much like myself, I'm also offering prints (4x6's, 5x7's and 8x10's).
Unlike my initial project budget, this one is much more open. I only need to purchase video editing software for the DVD. Otherwise, your pledge will go directly to purchasing what's listed in your reward tier.
The price of the rewards have been determined by what they'll cost me, and have been increased in order for me to make a profit for my time and effort.
Below are three photographs that will be featured in the photo book.
