      I'm so sorry I've been taking so long to communicate with everyone. Paranormal is currently in the process of being remade using Unreal Engine 4. The remake will be distributed as a free update to owners and backers. I've released a preview build of it on Steam and in the Standalone Google Drive folder for Backers. I am getting ready to releasing the next preview build for playing/testing in the coming days/weeks (depending on if I find any last minute bugs on certain computers). As for the custom scares, those will be done when the game is in a more stable and more complete (content+story-wise) to make sure that we can make the custom scares fit in and work, so they won't stand out and feel tacked on. I am so grateful for your patience and support. I have been overly ambitious with this project and I'm doing the best I can to complete it at the highest level of quality, and your support, understanding, patience, and enthusiasm - it really keeps me focused and motivated.       I never got word back on the "personal" simple scare idea I sent you and paid for.
      I understand you're doing it by yourself and working to create a great game. but we need something. I'm not looking for a refund. I am VERY patient with games like these, but come on man, share the love.

      @Christina Franks While I'm not sure what question you're referring to, I'd like to make it abundantly clear that if I get to the point where I know I won't be able to deliver on this specific project, I'll refund everyone. But I work on the game for hours every day. Solo game development takes time, especially when the project is as ambitious as this one. I made an ESTIMATE early on and I failed to meet it. But it was just that: an estimate. I continue to work on the game daily. You are absolutely free to criticize me and/or my abilities privately or publicly, but I implore you to understand/keep in mind the time it takes to make an ambitious game with a team of just one person.

      @Matt - Thank you for the refund I requested. And, to answer your question, yes, I meant every single word I have written to you in all of my PMs to you regarding your performance and management of this project.

      More than enough time has passed since your estimated delivery date of July 2013, as you are late on this project only by 21 months and counting (soon to be 2 years late and in all probability never forthcoming), that I have full confidence that my fellow backers have or will draw some, if not many, of the same conclusions that I have about you and this project, especially those who backed at the more expensive backer levels and those who continue to ask you for project updates but to no avail.

      @Chris Z. Currently at the stage in development of the Unreal Engine 4 remake mega update where I'm designing scares. This is the best part in development. One scare I made gave me chills while testing it. I hope to have a pre-alpha playable build available by the 31st. It will have very few, if any, scares and will be used to test layout, performance, controls, etc. Once that's released, I'll take as much feedback from everyone as possible and start fixing/improving things while also making scares. Thank you so much for being so understanding and supportive! This is going to be amazing :D

      @sinplague The project is in active development. The last update showed progress and since then, even more progress has been made. I plan on posting another update once I have a semi-playable test build available for backers. Working on a game as a solo team is very time-consuming. If you have any questions, send me a message.

      i think it would be better, when you hard to create a good game. But i am thinking too that it would be better if you post any updates about this projekt more often than yet. The people out there are hungry about information of the way of creation.

      I'm so sorry I've been silent. I'm working hard on The Town, as well as the original game. There is currently no alpha, but there will be as soon as it's ready. I have no time estimate on that. The Town turned out to be a lot more ambitious than I originally thought it would be, having redesigned it several times and expanded its scope. The project has progressed very far, but I've done a horrible job of communicating that to all of you and for that, I deeply apologize. I'm not very good at managing my kick starter page, but I'll try harder. You all deserve updates on what's been going on in development and I intend to show you. Thank you all so much for your support. It honestly does mean the world to me.

      I have to agree with my fellow backers on this one. More information is better than nothing. While I understand that the original game is receiving tweaks and the like, what we supported was "the Town". Is there a working beta? Or even alpha? Have you focused mainly on the original game? Have you been savagely brutalized by a pack of bears? Any word helps. I'm not one to say "I paid money, gimme gimme gimme", that's not what this is about. We understand, kickstarter projects have ridiculous end dates and delivery schedules (so far only 2/5 projects I've backed in the last 2 years have released Alphas or Betas) and most of us accept that. We want to know what's happening though. Anything beats nothing.

      Hello Matt,

      I completely understand that you're working on the original Paranormal and updating it's content. However, perhaps if you intended to continue working on the original game seemingly more than "The Town" you should have waited to have this Kickstarter. You've received $6,968 from backers for the project and, to be honest, the project hasn't seemed to progress very far since it started. As someone who contributed a larger amount of money towards your goal, this is rather disheartening. But I'm sure it is somewhat disheartening for many of the people who have backed the project with any amount of money, big or small.

      Perhaps it is just a lack of updates, and as Christina Franks mentions, this could be solved by you simply posting more updates. You did say in your last post that you would, however it seems that you have not.

      Given the success of your original kickstarter, I believe that it would be much better if you were to post more updates here to maintain your status as a successfully kickstarter'd indie game developer so that people are more likely to back your projects should you have another one in the future.

      I'm looking forward to seeing an update on the game's development progress and hope that you'll provide one soon.

      @Matt Cohen - So what happened to the upcoming updates you mentioned in your last update posted on Dec 31, 2013, which was 5 weeks ago? You stated, "I think we’ve decided to release updates on, or close to the 1st and 15th of every month." I guess you didn't "think" too long about that. We should have had 2 updates by now (on Jan 15 and Feb 1) with a 3rd one on the way for Feb 15. I don't care about counting days between updates that you do publish to this project, but I would very much like to see something—anything—from you in the way of communication. I would think that the other 306 backers of your project would also like to get a status update on how the game development is going, which milestones have you reached since your last update from Dec 31, what is your development schedule time-wise, do you have a release date for the final version of the game (a ballpark date would suffice since software release dates are always a moving target and you are now a good 7 MONTHS behind schedule as per this project's "estimated delivery date"), and how did Steam Dev Days go for you guys? I hope you enjoyed Seattle. We'd love to hear about it. Even if you do not have a lot of changes to document as Release Notes regarding development, we would still like to hear even that much from you. And your presence here—your occasional visit to say "hi" and "thanks" to us for our money—would be greatly appreciated not to mention professional. I look forward to your next update so that I can see how my dollars are being spent. Kind regards to you.

      Considering it has been over a month since the project owner logged into his own KS project, I would really like for him to issue an update to his backers. What's going on with the game? What milestones have you achieved thus far in the designing and coding of the game? Do you have any idea at all when the game might be finished?

      Matt, where are you? You really need to communicate with your backers. I am starting to feel like I am throwing money away when I back a project and the project owner disappears with my money. Please give us an update on the status of this project. Thank you kindly.

My experience as a backer of around 60 KS shows this helps no one and makes nobody any more happy.
