My wife teachers Mathematics and parents asked if she could recommend any Maths eBooks for the iPad tailored for this age range but couldn't find any which gave me the idea to create this one.
This project consists of creating and publishing a fun, educational, multimedia eBook made specifically for the iPad and aims to bring early years education to life with vibrant and colorful Maths orientated training. It will include simple Maths themed problem solving exercises for children but needs your support to complete so please make a pledge and receive great rewards!
Lets do the Math!
Simple addition is supplemented by learning to understand patterns. From my research 'problem solving' is everything for Maths training at a young age. The technique of recognising similarities (of Rabbits, Cows, Teddy Bears, Balloons, Shapes etc) but with changes in distance, direction and color is in effect teaching the basics of algebra and subsequently providing a sound foundation for further maths as well as reading and writing.
The textbook has evolved and now eBooks with video, animation and interactive images are the next big thing for education.
I’ve also had interest from parents of older children with special needs such as autism, who want me to keep them informed of the progress of this project as they think it’s something that their children might really enjoy using also.
It's a dog's life. The idea behind this work-in-progress is that comprehending similarities in shapes and patterns is much more beneficial than just counting
Recognising changes in depth, size, direction and color to match pairs (of fish) or sum up (clouds and boats) is extremely useful for future Mathematical problems and solutions

eBook Publishing Experience
Below are some images of a previous published eBook on the iPad (more information about this is in the Risks and Challenges section below).
Risks and challenges
Much work needs to be done to complete this eBook including videos, animations, finished graphics, interactivity, audio and the minor task of telling the world! Fortunately I have experience in eBook creation and publishing and have always excelled in Mathematics.
An eBook I've already published on iTunes under the name CreatureHouse Media offers a multimedia experience I hope to re-produce with interest for Maths Made Fun. It's called "Stop-Motion Animation: An Introduction to Armatures & Puppets" and is currently available on 32 iTunes stores worldwide. It can be downloaded by anyone with an iPad 2 or newer via iTunes or the iBookstore.
WIth regards to Marketing I have undertaken PR Training and will be writing Press Releases to newspapers and other media especially educational and parenting magazines and websites.
I have used Google Adwords to promote a product before and may consider using this again but I'm also learning about Twitter as a possible way of promoting the eBook.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
