Since we switched to Unreal 4:
Before we switched:
Lucy's Room (Normal)
It's been 20 years since the governor's 7 year-old daughter went missing. At first people thought she was abducted, but some believe she got lost in the hedge maze outside the governor's mansion. 12 policemen have died in the search for the young girl. No one can explain why that maze has claimed so many lives.
Now it's 1975 and you're driving through a small town in Missouri. It's the middle of the night, but you have to reach your hotel in St. Louis. A flat tire forces you to pull over in front of an old abandoned estate. As you get out of the car, you hear a rustling behind you. You glance back just in time to see a bright light disappear into the darkness of a giant hedge maze. Helplessly intrigued, you approach the gate of the maze. Upon entering that garden, you quickly realize this is the maze people spoke about years ago, but by then it's too late. You're trapped. You must solve the maze and you must do it quickly, for there is something in that garden that none have ever escaped.
Taken is a horror survival game where you find yourself trapped in a different hedge maze each time you play. Not only must you solve the maze, but you must do it without being detected. There’s a mysterious creature hidden within those walls and if that thing finds you, all is lost. There are three different difficulty levels that will change the size, complexity, and number of moving objects in the maze.
Taken will test your mind with challenging mazes, but the real fun comes from the danger waiting around every corner.
Taken will be built using Unreal Engine 4 and will be available for PC/Mac/iOS/Android. Taken will also be available for consoles some time in early 2015, unless we meet our stretch goals, in which case, it will be available on PS4 and XBOX One in late 2014.
Taken will also feature a LAN multiplayer mode, where two players can play against each other. One will play Lucy Maroville, the zombie girl, and the other will have to escape the maze while being chased by her.
If we meet our stretch goal, Taken will also have online multiplayer, and more modes are a possibility in DLC down the line.
Math Nerd Productions, LLC is a gaming and web-development company based out of Denver, Colorado. MNP was founded in 2009 and has developed 5 different iOS applications, all of which are available on the App Store and can be found here.
Here are some examples of music used in MNP games:
Get Wrecked! - Theme
Wally Ball - Theme
Mr. Swatter - Menu Theme
Fruit Warfare - In-Game Theme
And more importantly, WHY do we need your help?
Math Nerd Productions is run by a college student. On my own, I can't fund a major game project. Plain and simple. In order for my team and I to make this game a success, we need your financial help and social media outreach.
The funds we are seeking are for:
1. Licensing. This includes the game engine (Unreal 4) that we are using as well as app stores, such as the Apple App Store, Google Play, Steam, etc.
2. Hardware. This includes the devices necessary to build and run the game on all platforms. (Windows/Mac/iOS/Android)
3. Production and Development. This wide category includes all of the aspects of creating the game itself, including graphics, modeling, programming, music score, porting, rendering, etc.
4. Testing. This includes every frame of every scene on every platform. With support for 4 different platforms, there's a lot of testing to do!
5. Fulfillment. This includes all of the awesome rewards that we are offering to our backers!
1. Feedback. Posting the project on Kickstarter puts our team in touch with the people who play the games. it allows you to help us make this game into everything that you want it to be.
2. The Crowdfunding Dynamic. Kickstarter is beautiful and unique in that it allows us to get the funding we need from the people who want the project to be successful, rather than just getting a loan. It brings you into the team with us.
3. Access. Kickstarter provides a forum where millions of people can see our project.
Please help us get this game out to the world by pledging! If you can't pledge, you can also help us by sharing this page with all of your friends!

Risks and challenges
The major risks and challenges associated with building a game like this will come from testing. We have a lot of ground to cover in a relatively short time frame, but we are confident that with your help, we can get the project done in time.
By enlisting alpha/beta testers, we will have hundreds of eyes looking at every detail of this game; we are bound to find most, if not all, of the flaws before the final release in November or December.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
