Lend a hand to MATA's 14th Annual Festival, April 17-20th and help support the music of tomorrow, today
The 2012 MATA Festival kicks off on April 17, 2012. It is our 14th, and we expect it to be one of our best yet, featuring an extraordinary collection of motors, new ensembles, installations, and new works from around the globe!
We've got world premiere commissions by Qin Yi, Francesco Filidei and Huck Hodge, new works by Gordon Beeferman, Hugi Gudmunsson, Marianthi Papalexandri-Alexandri, José Luis Hurtado, Oscar Bianchi, Jacob Cooper, Cecilia Lopez, Kate Soper, Lesley Flanigan, Matt Marks, Eli Keszler, Eric Wubbels, David Coll and Alex Freeman. And featuring performances by Mellissa Hughes, Eva Alkula, Kathleen Supové,SIGNAL Ensemble, JACK Quartet, Quartet New Generation, loadbang, Erin Lesser and more!
We're looking to you, the new music warriors of the world, to lend a hand and help us raise the last few dollars to help make it happen.
MATA has an outstanding track record in spotting new talent--the first three installments alone (1997-99) brought composers such as Jennifer Higdon, Randall Woolf, Lukas Ligeti, and Derek Bermel to wider notice, while later festivals have spotlighted Julia Wolfe, Annie Gosfield, and Nico Muhly, among many others. And we're certain that this year will be no different!
Please lend a hand. Help us provide a home for adventurous new music by young composers, and join us for the 2012 Festival!
