About this project
The Toddler Tumbler features a mason jar compatible spill-proof sippy straw that's made of soft silicone to promote proper oral development.
It also includes the world's first-ever silicone mason jar to make the cup truly toddler-proof.
The Toddler Tumbler's silicone sippy straw can be used to DIY your own spill-proof cups with mason jars.
The Toddler Tumbler features the first-ever silicone mason jar so that families can survive the toddler years and take this cup on the road.
We all love that mason jars can be re-used in so many different ways, so we wanted The Toddler Tumbler to be compatible with them and just as versatile.
Families can save money and resources by using The Toddler Tumbler to do at least 4 different jobs!
Because the Toddler Tumbler's straw is removable, it can be introduced without the straw, so that your little one can simply turn it up to drink.
When your little one is ready to transition off of sippies, you can simply add The Toddler Tumbler's straw back in to make a straw cup for big kids.
If you take the sippy straw out of the Toddler Tumbler, you've got a silicone snack cup.
You'll love the wide easy-to-fill opening of the Toddler Tumbler's silicone mason jar. Your little one will love the soft squeezable texture.
Everything that goes into the Toddler Tumbler is made in the United States of America.
We know where the raw materials come from, their quality, and who is making our products.
Because one Toddler Tumbler can replace four different feeding products, you'll not only reduce clutter in your cabinets, but also save some money.
Here's a cost comparison we created using the average prices for comparable products:
The soft-silicone spout is designed so that it only opens when your toddler takes a drink, meaning it won't ruin the inside of your bag if it accidentally turns upside down.
At Mason Bottle, we focus on sustainability by designing products that:
- upcycle and grow with your child
- are multi-purpose and allow parents to buy fewer feeding supplies
- replace plastic products or single-use products
- that are Made in the USA to support local jobs and reduce carbon emissions
The Toddler Tumbler's all-silicone design means it can be taken on any journey your little one goes on whether that be a hike, long car rides, or packed in a lunch for school.
The Toddler Tumbler has a wide opening and each part can be separated, with no hidden nooks or crannies, for easy cleaning. All the parts are dishwasher safe.
All Mason Bottle products, including all pieces of the Toddler Tumbler are compatible with mason jars. Here are some ways you can use them:
- Add the silicone sippy straw to a mason jar
- Add the plastic collar and cap to replace a rusted mason jar collar
- Add a Mason Bottle silicone nipple to the Toddler Tumbler to create an indestructible, yet plastic-free baby bottle
Whatever you chose to fill the Toddler Tumbler with will never come in contact with plastic.
We chose a silicone design because research continues to emerge that there are still harmful chemicals in plastic that can disrupt early brain development.
Traditional sippies have a hard spout with a wider flatter design-both of these features prevent the child's tongue for resting in the natural position for eating, drinking, and speech development.
In contrast, our soft silicone straw design doesn't interfere with the tongue's placement, which allows for proper oral development.
With the Toddler Tumbler's reusability, you can make all sorts of purees, soups, and smoothies at home for your little one to enjoy.
It's an excellent way to sneak in other healthy ingredients your toddler would otherwise say their new favorite word to (no!).
Mason Bottle, as well as the factory we partner with to produce our bottles and cups, are both female-owned companies which follows our values of empowering women in business.
The silicone mason jar means the Toddler Tumbler can handle spills, drops and falls. It's the best of both worlds: unbreakable like plastic, but chemical-free like glass.
Mason Bottle makes sustainable and multi-purpose products that allow families to do more with less. All Mason Bottle products are 100% Made in the USA to support local jobs and ensure the purest, highest quality product possible.
Mason Bottle’s first product was The Original Mason Bottle. The breast-like silicone nipples, silicone sleeves, and plastic caps enable parents to safely use mason jars for breast-milk storage, bottles, baby food storage and much more.
We’ve set our Kickstarter goal at $50,000 in order to cover 75% of our manufacturing costs. This money will go towards purchasing the 4 molds that are needed to bring the Toddler Tumbler to life.
After the campaign launches in June, we'll begin the tooling process for manufacturing in July. This process will wrap up in early Semptember, leaving the rest of that month for testing. Since we're Made in the USA, the shortest step is manufacturing and shipping, which will happen over the span of a couple weeks in October.

Risks and challenges
Our primary challenge is designing a product that is robust enough to withstand all the pokes, prods, drops, falls, pulls, and pushes of the average toddler.
We already have this product designed and quoted by our manufacturer, so our costs are accurate and so is our timeline. We know it will take the manufacturer 10 weeks to create the manufacturing equipment, which is why we set our fulfillment timeline three months in the future.
We are fortunate that our manufacturing partner is located in the United States, so there won't be shipping delays when it comes to fulfillment.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
