Life Inside the Arts
Creativity intertwined with the arts has long been something that has caught my attention from a very young age. With the help of my family and some close friends, my passion for art and creative thinking has expanded into something I never thought possible. Coming from a small village in the Czech Republic, working with art gave me a type of absolute freedom that I couldn’t find with anything else. There were no guidelines, no rules, just my feelings and emotions flowing through my body and onto a canvas.
After facing the adversity and struggles that come with trying to fulfill the expectations of those around you, I was able to venture outside of that box and truly find my own type of expressive freedom within my creative work. It’s bigger than just art, though. The knowledge and perspective that I gain from interacting with other artists and creators is what has fueled my determination to expand and ensure that this project develops into a success.
Through the lens of a small town artist, Chicago has always been a city that I have idolized. From the large Czech demographic present within, to the diversity it encompasses and the beautiful platform, it provides for artists to connect and work freely, it seemed just majestic enough for me to take on. Chicago has the potential to act as the perfect bridge for connecting artists from the United States and the Czech Republic. Art is a challenge, and this campaign is nothing short of that.
Whether through times of success of strife, the support of others has consistently acted as the backbone for my creative endeavors. Through this realization comes the pledge that I have made to myself to recognize and appreciate all of the different donors that contribute to my dreams. With personal, handcrafted gifts that all embody a piece of myself and my art, I hope to maintain the relationships that are formed through this campaign and in the process create a community of passionate artists who are willing to work together to see the dreams of one another flourish.
What is life without experience, interaction and struggle? What is art without risk, failure and perseverance? I ask you to take this leap with me. From a small village on the farms of the Czech Republic, to the concrete jungle that is Chicago, let us all join forces and construct the creative community I have seen in my dreams to help spread the gift of art to all ends of the globe.
I am forever thankful to all who read this, whether contributing or not, your openness to hearing my story and the dreams I wish to achieve are more than enough.

Risks and challenges
There are many potential obstacles within this campaign, but only three central hurdles we will need to address. The first one being that we might be running a little late with the delivery times of the promised gifts, especially the paintings, but not without reason. Secondly, moving the art from the Czech Republic to Chicago may be a little bit difficult; however, we have a plan in motion regarding how to transport all the marvelous work created by Marek. Lastly, one other obstacle could be getting paperwork to enter the United States; however, in the Czech Republic we can access the ESTA which should help to work around this potential difficulty.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
