Production sample, PM closing
We switched factories, from Wingo to Longpack this year, due to a wide array of reasons. One thing we didn't even know about is that Longpack doesn't only send a pre-production sample (Wingo does this too, it means you still get to change any errors with the game before mass production), but they also air-shipped a production copy! While there is nothing (or very little) that can be changed about the game at that point, at least we can prepare a solution for any mistakes instead of finding this out 2 days before Essen (Yes, this happened last year with The Dutch East Indies, when many basic games had 2x punchboard 3 and no punchboard 4). Or in this came, breathe happily because it all looks great! There was one small issue that affects only the first 200 games we will receive, and it's only something we have to keep track of. They packed the Tour Operator: Cities mini-expansion in with the box of the core game. So some of you who ordered the mini-expansion will find it in the box, others will find it outside of the game box. So let's have a look at the game!
We currently estimate to start with shipping out EU and rest of world orders on the 29th of October. We will have a few games at Essen to show and sell, and you can pick up your game there if you want to. For the US and Canada, we had to make the decision to ship the games to Rotterdam first, then add some Tikal, Cuzco, Mexica and Scuba to it, and then ship this to the US. So this has a pro and a con. The con is that US and Canadian backers will have their games delivered around late November, a little later than European backers. We're sorry for this, we did not anticipate on buying the licenses for the Mask Trilogy when we planned the logistics for Tour Operator. The pro of this is that you can add-on Tikal, Mexica and Cuzco (which we only keep a small stock for in the US for any webshop orders, as we can't sell them through distribution or retail in the US/Canada) to your pledge and pay little extra shipping for this, and receive them at the same time as Tour Operator.
As usual, we ship out to you before we ship out to retailers and distributors, so you will have your copy before it hits retail. And because everything always seem to delay, we will start EU fulfillment right after Essen instead of before, but since this is only the difference of a few days, we hope this doesn't upset our EU backers. If you wish to have your copy at Spiel, you can pick it up anyway.
In any case, please keep in mind that the Pledge Manager closes on September 30, in little less than 2 weeks. Please make sure you filled it out by then, as we will have to add both manual processing costs and additional shipping costs when you fill it out later and it will delay your delivery.
In case you're visiting Spiel Essen, come say hi, pick up your copy of Tour Operator (bring your backer number, name and/or e-mail address), check out Tikal, Mexica and/or Cuzco at 5-A121! Don't look for a small booth like last two years, as we are sharing a 80m2 booth this year with a couple of our Dutch/Flamish friends!
