Scuba is a realistic scuba diving board game in which players dive into the ocean looking for cool animals! You try to find as many animals as possible, try to make combinations of them, make dust so other players can't see the fish, fight currents, and face unexpected events. But everyone has to keep an eye on their air, because you won't live to tell your tales if you run out of air under water...

You can pick up a copy of Scuba here for €36 (~$39). This includes an €8 subsidy on shipping. Shipping to the US is free if you buy two copies or more, or €5 (~ $5.40) when you buy one. For shipping to other countries, please see the shipping section below. MSRP will be €45 (excluding any shipping), so this is a 38% 'pre-order' discount. Also, any promo packs unlocked here will not be included in the retail edition! And please remember, if the Kickstarter doesn't fund, there will be no retail edition at all.
We also have a special reward level where you can sponsor an animal. This means that your name will be printed on one animal card of your choice in every copy of the game. This is our €91 ($99) level and also includes a copy of the game, sent free to the US, EU and Canada or worldwide for just €9. For more information on this, please refer to the FAQ at the bottom of the page.

Note: you can play with 5-8 players if you play with 2 copies of the game. The only thing you have to do is paint or otherwise mark the player pieces of one copy so every player has unique player pieces.
Scuba has been designed for:
- Family gamers (without decompression rules) - we recommend age 8+, but younger kids may also enjoy it
- Advanced gamers (with decompression rules)
- Scuba divers (with decompression rules)
- Visually challenged / color blind players (see FAQ for more details)

Rewards to the EU, the US, Canada and Australia* (see FAQ) will be shipped from within those countries so we will pay the custom charges, not you guys. If you like to buy one copy of Scuba, you can just click on the right reward level, enter your country and the shipping will be calculated automatically.
The same goes for multiple copies (up to six). Just pick the right level and enter your country. You can also pick up your copy at Spiel Essen in October (Germany), or in the Rotterdam area (Netherlands) at anytime after the games have reached Europe. Essen now has a €29 special pledge level.
Here is a chart that tells you what the shipping costs are for the combinations of countries and number of games. Kickstarter calculates this automatically if you select the right pledge level.

We at Keep Exploring Games believe that as consumers we have a responsibility to care for the Earth as good as we can. You know, saving energy, water, oil and other natural resources as much as possible, recycling, etc.
But we also believe that if we produce and globally deliver hundreds or even thousands of games, we have a much bigger responsibility to make sure we harm our planet the least we can. Therefore, we thought a lot about what we can do to achieve this. And I am not talking about things like not printing every important e-mail we get, as this is something we are already (not) doing as a consumer.
One obvious solution is to put the games on a ship to Europe / the US instead of on a plane. Most Kickstarter creators are already doing this because it saves money although it takes more time. We are also doing it because it saves money, but we would have already done that because it is better for the environment.
We will also make sure that we use recycled/recyclable materials for packaging. But before we can ship anything, the games need to be produced and here are opportunities for sustainability too. We selected Wingo for a number of reasons.
One of which is their compliance with environmental and safety norms such as EN71 and ASTM F963. We also minimized plastics used in the game and the packaging of it.
Finally, we plan to use Kiala (alongside home-shipping) for shipping in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France and Spain because shipping to local points saves up to 60% CO2 emission compared to home-delivery.

Risks and challenges
Let's face it, producing something in China and then distributing it all over the world is not an easy task. However, we have taken every possible action to ensure that every single backer will be completely happy with the game and that it reaches everyone in time.
We have talked to our manufacturer (Wingo Games) at Essen and are confident that they will exceed our expectations. As for fulfillment, we have several options and will go with the cheapest reliable option at the time.
We have learnt from the mistakes creators made in the 80+ Kickstarters we backed ourselves, and made sure we don't make any of those mistakes. We have analyzed every single small step on the way and have a list of potential problems and solutions for every one of them.
Scuba also has our full attention and no other games will be kickstarted before every backer has Scuba in their home. And if anything ever goes wrong, we will make sure we communicate as fast, honest and clear as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
