Have a question?
@Jason - Thank you! Glad you like the Expansion. Eternity will show up... soon!
Got all three books. I am beyond happy! My plaster in the expansion is fantastic! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this in such a big way. The only game I'm missing is eternity.
@Christian - Our apologies! We mailed those out as soon as we got the books post-GenCon. We'll contact you via private message to make sure we fet you your copy right away.
I stopped by GenCon to pick up my copy of Last Best Hope. I got my patch, but was informed that the printing of the book was not good in the first batch so did not pick up the book. I was told the book would be shipped. Is there an ETA?
If there is anyone who is interested in participating in a forum game of Our Last Best Hope, and has an account on boardgamegeek.com, or rpggeek.com (they're the same site), then head over to this link:
or leave a message here. I'm looking for two others who will have good participation, and are interested in making a great story.
Thanks guys! I hope to hear from you if you want to join us!
@Luke - Yay! Please let us know how your game goes. We'd love to have you post an actual play report and/or a review!
Hooray! Package from Magpie arrived. Can't wait to play!

The correct RPGGEEK link for the core rules is actually: http://boardgamegeek.com/rpgitem/129835/our-last-best-hope
The last link was for the umbrella OLBH family rather than specifically for the core rules book (not the clearest set-up if you ask me).
@Robert - Thank you for reminding us!
Don't forget to cross-post any reviews or session reports to the "Our Last Best Hope" area on RPGGeek: http://rpggeek.com/rpg/18490/our-last-best-hope (there's not much there yet).
@Jennifer - Thank you for making it possible! We're incredibly thrilled that people are happy with the book.
Just had my book in the mailbox and wanted to thank you, it looks awesome :)
Just posted my survey for The Core. Hope you like it.
Awesome news, sir. I can't wait to have another Mission to choose from.
@Thomas - Matt sent the CtD Mission over to me this week, so it will be out as soon as we can get it edited and laid out. Shouldn't be long at all! And that's so awesome that your group is excited!
I was wondering when the ctd play set would be available.
On a unrelated note: My group is so hyped about finally getting to be Our Last Best Hope, after what seems like months of talking it up. Just a matter of getting them all in the same room asap.
@Jason - We're working on a GenCon wrap up post, but we're still pretty rundown from the weekend. Keep your eyes peeled for it early next week!
Can we hear about the games that were run in the GoD room at Gencon?
Its like Fiasco for heros! I loved it!
@Morgan - We're still wrapping up the QR Codes, but I think we will have it available around the 1st of September on PDF and in retail stores. If people want to preorder, they can do so on our website - www.magpiegames.com/products
Perfectly and thanks! Very glad that it was interpreted correctly at the table. First session was quite the success and a question came out of it - when will it be for sale to everyone else?
@Morgan - You may use each Touchstone a single time. Once you use them, they are used up and cannot be used again, but each can be used separately. Does that answer your question?
Question regarding Touchstones, the English language is somewhat ambiguous: Can you use each Touchstone once, or can you use Touchstones once?
@Jason - Thank you so, so much! We really enjoyed having you (and your mom!) at the games.
She liked it so much that when she found out about The Play's the Thing, she snagged a copy of that as well.
Played a session of Eternity and Our Last Best Hope at the convention and really enjoyed them both. Brought my mother (who isn't really into role playing) to the OLBH game and was surprised by how much she liked the game.
@Eric - Wonderful! Please let us know how those games go. We'd love to hear about them!
Received the book and additional materials yesterday. The book looks great, as do the bonus materials. I'm really looking forward to doing a pbf game of this on BGG later this fall, and to try an f2f as well.
Great work guys, and I'll be looking to pick up 'The Play's the Thing' very soon. Thanks!
@Morgan - Thank you! Please let us know how it goes.
My book and swag arrived today - very excited. Looking forward to playing this. Thanks!
@James - Yes! Custom dice will be sent out with the additional books. :) And we would still recruit you to save the Earth...
Never mind. I just read about the dice delay in the updates. DO NOT RECRUIT ME TO HELP YOU SAVE EARTH. I apparently will be the Ben Affleck to your Bruce Willis.
When do we get the custom dice? I was expecting those, since I funded as Mission Specialist. I am happy about the book, the stickers, and the patch, but am missing that one last piece to start saving humanity from giant mutant Cockamouses who have stopped the earth's core from spinning as long as we stop Jersey Shore from airing.
@Eric - Thanks for the feedback. We use YouSendIt primarily because it's a great way of keeping track of things, but we'll look into some alternate methods that are more convenient for our backers. Thanks!
Excellent work guys, and looking very much forward to having the book. One large bit of feedback however, and this is likely just my personal opinion but, I would suggest offering an alternative method for retrieving the pdf. I did not have a yousendit account prior to this, and I don't plan on using it again in the near future so I've asked that it be deleted afterwards. I just don't like having loose accounts here and there that I'm not using.
While I can certainly understand, and appreciate, your desire to avoid anyone sharing your work for free, I also think that offering an alternative for those of us who just want the pdf and don't want the hassle of creating 'another' account somewhere on the internet is a good idea.
Again, this is just a personal opinion, and am in no way dissatisfied with your product (quite the contrary), I wanted to express my opinion on the pdf acquisition.
Thanks for a great product guys, you're really doing a great job.
@Alistair - You're welcome! We're glad you like them.
I received the stickers yesterday. Was really quite a nice surprise - I'd forgotten completely about them. Thank you :)
How do you like the new KS layout?
I like seeing the project creator's stats just below the funding/goal box now. And labeling the creator in the comments is really cool too.
The 'you're a backer' stamp should really remain in the goal box, don't you think? And the Funded label is just obnoxious where its at right now.
It looks like most everything else that has been changed is just tightening up the text...
So, for the most part, I think it was a good change. Thank goodness they didn't go crazy, and mess with the format TOO much!
Downloaded it, and skimmed it a few days ago. Reading a bit now actually.
@Jason - Yes! Our Last Best Hope is a lot like Fiasco, with key differences in the setup and structure of play. Did you download and read the backer draft?
Watched Geek & Sundry's Tabletop where they played Fiasco.
Will your game be something like that?
@Jason - I've really enjoyed all of them! There are definitely some that are really inventive and exciting, and I expect most of those will make it into the book.
I was wondering if any of the submitted survey's have really impressed you so far.
@Jason - I do! I'm pulling out the best ideas that I think will work for the system. Why do you ask?
Mark, do you go through the playset survey's yourself?
@Jason - Yes! We will have additional surveys for other playsets, such as The Snow and The Core.
Are there going to be more setting surveys like the space and zombie scenarios?
@Jason - Awesome! Thank you!
Okay, done, and with the extra few days to think about it, I fleshed it out a little bit. Thank you Mark, I wasn't sure if people would groan over a serious take on a silly concept... So I am really glad to know that you find some merit in it. :)
