Maximum Mayhem Dungeons are self contained adventure modules that you play with any of a number of roleplaying systems.
The stat blocks and play are based on the most generic and royalty free rules set called OSRIC (which is a system like 1st Edition AD&D): http://www.lulu.com/shop/stewart-marshall/osric-a5-pdf/ebook/product-20697767.html With these rules and other free resources you can find online, you use the module to plan out an adventure that you and your friends can play.
Of course. If you’re familiar with RPGs you will find it easy to convert to any number of rulesets including D&D 5e. Because we actually print the modules, we have to include stats and our books are based on OSRIC which is almost identical to the original D&D. A good DM could easily use the contents in whatever 5e campaign or home-brew world they desired.
No. Because of the small run and shipping (of the box to us and then to you), we’d have to charge the same as we do for just the box with dice. You have to get the new module to get the box anyway, so the $85 option is the cheapest way to get the box at the moment.
