WHY? As most of you know, shooting anything, even something small costs money. You can ask for favors, make great deals and charm total strangers, but at the end of the day, hard costs are hard costs and the lower the budget the harder it is. We really want to pay our crew a little more, try to put as much money on the screen as possible and find the best home, for what we believe in our hearts, is a great story with great characters and a whole lot of heart.

Before we tell you about the show, we just want to take a moment to let you know how deeply we appreciate your even considering donating. When Annie Smalls' life falls apart -- with men, her job and just about everything else -- she has had enough and decides if she wants her life to get better, a whole lot better, she better make some big changes! So, she writes a list of the “50 MISTAKES I AM NO LONGER GOING TO MAKE FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR” so that after the year, she’ll be in a much better place…she hopes! And because her new career, discovering new design talent throughout the globe, involves constant air-travel, each of the mistakes she has vowed to herself that she can no longer make, must be dealt with one at a time on each flight she takes. And now that she’s on an airplane and has nowhere to run, it’s that much more challenging for her -- and a lot funnier for us.
Just imagine, you’ve sworn to yourself not to date anyone for a year in order to get your act together. So why - oh why! - does the world’s greatest and most gorgeous catch have to be seated right next to you for a six-hour flight?! Or the mean girl from high school, who always made fun of you and scared the bleep out of you, is on the plane and one of your vows is “No more fearing people!”.
When you’re on the ground you can run, but up here at 36,000 feet, you can’t hide. Each 10-15 minute episode of ANNIE TAKES OFF isn’t just about making the audience laugh, it’s about learning one flight at a time that we are a lot more than we think and if we stay true to the best we have in ourselves, no matter how difficult, each “flight we take” gets a lot easier and makes us the heroes of our own story.
OUR FIRST GOAL - FUNDING & SHOOTING A SIZZLE REEL!
Show creators, Sybil and Steve have partnered with Mark Gantt to build a truly outstanding team, as you will see. We want this great show to move from the written page to full production and that starts by shooting the exciting trailer (also known in the entertainment industry as a “sizzle reel”), so that we have a really exceptional and polished presentation to show others the incredible appeal of ANNIE TAKES OFF. The sizzle reel will be shot very soon, on September 8 & 9. It will be chock full of recognizable faces and directed by Perry Andelin Blake, best known as in-house Production Designer for Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions and director of Dana Carvey's MASTER OF DISGUISE, on which Adam Sandler was an Executive Producer.
The plan is to screen the sizzle reel for airlines, travel, or female product-related companies, internet web studios, and/or comedy internet channels, to find the perfect partner to sponsor the full series, so that ANNIE TAKES OFF can be shown as in-flight entertainment, as well as on websites, web channels, and many other web outlets around the world. However, the multi-platform, multimedia scope is even larger, as you’ll see below.
When you read further, we hope you get a sense of our professionalism and extraordinary passion for a great show that can go very far, even beyond the initial flagship digital series. But to make it all happen, it is absolutely necessary that we raise the funds to produce this sizzle reel so we can show the powers-that-be a funny and polished taste of this great and unique new show. “ANNIE TAKES OFF” – THE FLIGHT PLAN
The flagship of the ANNIE TAKES OFF multimedia universe will be the Digital Series. In each episode, Annie will find herself challenged to stay true to the list of “50 Mistakes I Will No Longer Make”.
ANNIE TAKES OFF will be an airline’s signature series that will be designed to have multiple commercial uses, all of which will promote an airline, its personable staff, company logo, sense of an exceptional traveling environment, and most importantly a warm connection to its passengers. Its design will also allow for anything else the airline feels it would like to communicate to its customer base while also luring new customers.
ANNIE'S BLOG SITE - "Destination Designs with Annie Smalls"
While our slogan will be “Life isn’t the Destination. It’s the Journey”, those who watch Annie’s adventures in the sky, will grow to be intrigued with her weekly destinations. This blog will allow our fictional Annie to post videos and fashions of real, live designers, found through promotional contests, outreach, etc. These designers will in turn, tweet, blog, and reach-out in all ways possible to their own fan base and the fashion community about ANNIE TAKES OFF, cross-promoting the show and the airline’s various promotions and promotional partners.
Annie Smalls will Twitter daily inspirations about life, style and people, drawing out more about her character by having her viewers updated about her daily adventures and misadventures. This will also feature sponsored tweets with deals from the sponsoring airline as well as airline partners.

Producing any project costs money even if everyone is doing it for free because they love the project and believe in its future. There are hard costs that we can't avoid. The big one is of course the location: we'll be filming on an actual airplane mockup and well, that's not cheap.

WHO'S FLYING THE PLANE
SYBIL TEMTCHINE (Creator, “Annie
Sybil has just completed the comedy feature, AUDREY, in which she plays the title role. Sybil also co-wrote and produced alongside Executive Producers Ruth Vitale and Effie Brown. AUDREY will be released theatrically through Check Entertainment Distribution in January 2013.
2011 saw the theatrical release of FOOTPRINTS, which starred Sybil in a performance hailed as “sublime” by noted film critic, F.X. Feeney, and “a real discovery” by Oscar-winner Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential, 8 Mile). Other leading roles include Chris Menaul’s Emmy-Award winning Showtime Original Feature, THE PASSION OF AYN RAND, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and stars Helen Mirren, Peter Fonda, Julie Delpy and Eric Stolz, New Line Cinema’s BODY SHOTS, opposite Amanda Peet, Jerry O’Connell and Tara Reid, and Sony’s horror hit, THE CAVERN.
For TV, Sybil starred opposite Ving Rhames as Lt. Emily Patterson on USA Network’s series KOJAK, which aired throughout the world, ABC’s MIRACLES opposite Skeet Ulrich, and Steven Bochco’s HBO series MARRIAGE. Most recently, Sybil appeared in ABC’s hit series REVENGE.
Sybil began her career as both producer and star of TEN BENNY opposite Adrien Brody, which premiered to rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival and was released worldwide. Sybil would star again opposite Adrien Brody in RESTAURANT.
STEVEN PEROS (Creator)
Steven Peros is currently writing the pilot, DORIAN GRAY, for NBC/Universal, a one-hour drama he created. He is best known for writing the Lionsgate film, THE CAT’S MEOW, starring Kirsten Dunst, directed by Peter Bogdanovich.
Steven's first feature as director, FOOTPRINTS, opened in theaters in 2011 and received the praise of such renowned critics as Kevin Thomas, F.X. Feeney, Mick LaSalle and the Chairman of the New York Film Critics Circle, who hailed it as “One of the Ten Best Films So Far This Year”. Steven’s second feature, THE UNDYING, a supernatural thriller starring Emmy nominee Robin Weigert (HBO’s Deadwood) and Wes Studi (Avatar) was released wide on DVD/VOD in December 2011.
In the world of comedy, Steven penned three episodes of AMC's Emmy-award winning sitcom, THE LOT, and was a writer on Disney's AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, starring Jackie Chan, directed by Frank Coraci (director of The Wedding Singer and Zookeeper).
In the world of Theatre, Steven is a twice-published Samuel French playwright and was profiled as their April 2011 Playwright of the Month. The Los Angeles World Premiere of his stage play, THE CAT’S MEOW, had an extended nine-week run, garnering rave reviews from The Los Angeles Times, Daily Variety, CBS Radio, and many others in the print and radio press.
MARK GANTT (Executive Producer)
Mark recently shot a pilot presentation for a supernatural series, THE PROGRAM, created by Matt Lutz and starring Mark and Robert Forster. Currently Mark is developing several projects that he will be starring in and producing including; the dramedy LOVEMAKERS with Yuri Baranovsky, DRIVE an action web series/feature film with a top Youtube channel and SEVVEN with Taryn O'Neill. He also produced and directed two episodes of the 2011 BANFF Awards nominated series, SUITE 7, a branded web series for the Better Sleep Council, released online by Lifetime, starring Shannen Doherty, Jaime Murray and Eddie McClintock. In June, Mark won Best of the Fest for his short film DONOR he directed by the Indie Cinema Series Festival in Los Angeles. As an actor, Mark recently Guest-Stared on Showtime's DEXTER.
Mark's project THE BANNEN WAY, which he co-wrote, produced and starred in, has been an incredible success. Financed by Sony's Crackle distribution arm, this unique Web Series/Feature Film included Academy Award Nominees, Robert Forster and Michael Lerner and Emmy winner Vanessa Marcil. Within the first ten weeks, it garnered over 14 million views and went on to win 4 Streamy Awards including Best Drama, Best Actor (Mark), Best Director and was nominated for two Webby awards and a BANFF Award. BANNEN is distributed internationally on VOD, DVD, iTunes and Amazon as a feature film. Due to its vast success, Mark is currently developing the project into a TV series.
ANDELIN BLAKE (Director)
Perry Andelin Blake grew up in Los Angeles, the grandson of a noted Hollywood scenic artist and painter. After graduating from Harvard University with a Master degree in architecture, he moved back to L.A. to work for the legendary architect Frank Gehry. He practiced architecture for a number of years then began designing sets for commercials for companies such as Coke and Nike, as well as the famous 'Got Milk' campaign.
After working on the Oscar nominated short 'Birch Street Gym', Blake designed his first feature, BILLY MADISON. This began a long collaboration with Adam Sandler that includes early favorites such as HAPPY GILMORE and THE WEDDING SINGER through later films like CLICK and JUST GO WITH IT. He also designed AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS starring Jackie Chan which literally took him around the world, working in Berlin, Bangkok and Delhi. He also directed the Dana Carvey kids comedy MASTER OF DISGUISE, as well as the Second Unit on many of his films.
He is a member of The ADG, the DGA and the Academy of Arts and Sciences. His films have grossed over 1 billion dollars.
