Today, I Woke Up To........ GOAL REACHED!
Last night, when I went to bed, we were $109 away from our goal. I had hoped, so much, that we would hit the goal yesterday, mostly because watching it sit there at $7391 funded for several hours was a special kind of torture.
But I woke up this morning and discovered that, overnight, several kind souls had worked hard in various places to get it over the hump!
WE REACHED THE GOAL!
As you all know, being writers of various stripes, watching your sales can be thrilling and demoralizing, sometimes flopping from one to the other in just a matter of hours. Or, maybe it's not that way for you (count yourself lucky!).
Running this Kickstarter has been like that for me, almost every day.The very first day, when it had no backers for a couple hours, I had my doubts.
But then you all came through and proved what I had thought and been told over the years: there are a lot of Apple using writers that would benefit from TrackerBox.
So, thank you all for backing the project, for talking about it, for posting about it. It wouldn't have made it without you.
So, What's Next?
Well, we're not done. There are nine days to go as I write this, and I'd like to keep the momentum going until the end. While this sounds like a "Thank You" update, and it is, it's only part of the story.
The $7500 goal was the very minimum I needed to make this project work. It will fund nearly full time development (I have to have time to write!) for about two months. I don't expect it to take longer than that, but life happens, and with software development, almost every project has some sort of unknown that needs to be researched. It would be nice to have a bit of a buffer.
Once the campaign ends on the 17th, I'll send out surveys to discover who to register the software to, and which books of mine you want. Kickstarter will collect the funds, and about two weeks later, they'll send me my cut. Once the funds are in my account, I'll send out the registration keys for the Windows version, as well as the ebooks you selected.
Again, I can't thank you all enough. This was a wonderful thing to wake up to!
