I love Celtic music. That's why I started the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. I wanted to share all of the incredible Celtic music I found. Plus, I wanted to help out all the incredible indie Celtic artists I've met online. Since then, the podcast has won TWO awards for Best Music Podcast in the Podcast Awards. It is consistently at the top of the charts on iTunes, and it gets well-over 20,000 downloads of each show. It's the most-popular Celtic podcast online.
In 2006, I released my first Celtic Christmas special. That blossomed into an annual, highly-anticipated show. Eventually, it spun off into the Celtic Christmas Podcast which features Celtic Christmas podcast episodes from around the podosphere.
Now I'm ready to produce my first Celtic Christmas compilation. It's called A Celtic Christmas. It features Christmas music by some of the best indie Celtic music artists that I've featured in my podcasts.
My goal is to help these incredible indie Celtic musicians to be heard. However, I can't do it without your help. So I decided to raise money to pay for the production of the album. To that end, I am offering a bunch of cool rewards for people who support this project.
However, far more important than the money is the awareness. Your pledge will help bring further attention to the bands on this compilation as well as to the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast.

Where does the money go?
My goal is to raise money for duplication, artwork and the rewards. It isn't cheap. Here are the expenses associated with this album:
Duplication = $1,250
Artwork = $600
Shipping = $550
Shirts = $100
Greeting Cards Cards = $100
Fees = $285
TOTAL = $2885
Like all of my compilations, most of the profits support the podcast to help promote Celtic musicians. That said, I do have a couple stretch goals designed to bring greater awareness to this project.
First Stretch Goal
If we reach the stretch of $5685 by the time this campaign closes, I will not only hire a publicist for one month to promote the album, but you will get a free subscription to Song Henge. Here's how it works:
Donate $50, get a one-year membership to Song Henge (that's $20 value)
Donate $100, get a one-year Celtic Core membership to Song Henge ($45 value)
Donate $250 or more, you'll get a one-year Sainted Membership (with all the free gifts) and your name posted on the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast website ($100 value)!
OH! And if you donate $100 or more, you will also receive a Celtic Christmas ornament featuring the Celtophilia.com Christmas tree Celtic knotwork that will also be seen on our T-Shirts!
Risks and challenges
There a ton of Celtic Christmas compilations on the market. In fact, the market is swamped with crappy compilations. The biggest challenge is making this album stand out despite the overflow of Celtic Christmas albums that come out each year.
Can we do it?
Will this be the best Celtic Christmas compilation ever?
Is it good enough to excite you to tell people more about it?
I believe in these songs and these artists. These songs are some of my favorites. These bands are consistently my favorite on the podcast. I listened to this album all last Christmas and never got tired of any of the songs. I think you will too.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
