$250,000 : WHEEL CHOICES - UNLOCKED! We will add another wheel choice! Based on backer feedback so far, the second wheel choice will likely be larger and softer wheels…The final choice will ultimately be based on a Backer Survey right after Kickstarter ends.
$325,000 : EVEN FASTER - UNLOCKED! We will make the Marbel Board capable of going 25 mph. Top speed and acceleration will of course still be completely adjustable in your smartphone App.
$500,000 : SUPER FAST CHARGER - Every Marbel Board will come with a fast charger that is capable of charging the board in 45 minutes. That is over 2 miles of charge in just 10 minutes.
The Marbel Board was designed to be lightweight, fast, and easy to use. The entire Marbel electric skateboard weighs in at a record setting 9.9 pounds. Lighter than any electric vehicle in the world. It has enough power to go 20 MPH uphill, will take you 10 real world miles per charge, and all of the electronics and batteries are completely integrated into the carbon fiber / kevlar deck. On top of that, it connects with your smartphone to fully customize your riding style and even control the throttle of your board.
Whether it is commuting to work, getting to the subway or bus stop, running errands, or trying to just get across a college campus, short trips and urban travel have always been frustrating. In a car we deal with traffic, parking, and of course rising fuel costs. On a bicycle, we work up a sweat and then have to find a safe place to lock up.
We felt there had to be a better way to handle these short trips. Our goal at Marbel was to build the lightest electric vehicle in the world but also create an amazing user experience. We have spent the last 2 years dedicated to engineering and designing our Marbel Electric Skateboard… the lightest electric skateboard in the world. With an amazing team, modern technologies, and support from our community we built the Marbel Board to be simple to use, efficient, and exhilarating to ride.
The Marbel Electric Skateboard IS the lightest electric skateboard in the world. It weighs only 9.9 pounds and is only 30mm at it's thickest point. This makes the board incredibly portable and light enough for you to comfortably carry, even with just one hand.
Our battery technology is very similar to what you would find in a Tesla Model S. With one full charge, the board goes 10 miles, and that is not 10 "testing in a lab” miles. In real world conditions, most of our test riders are getting OVER 10 miles per charge. When you do need to recharge, it takes only 90 minutes, and is able to plugin to a standard wall outlet. To achieve this, we partnered with an amazing manufacturer. We use state of the art Lithium-Ion batteries and a custom battery management system, which keeps every cell running at peak performance.
Our proprietary Carbon Fiber and Kevlar layup is molded into an ultralight unibody deck using a process that combines hand craftsmanship and precision machining. Unibody construction means a higher-quality, less complex design with fewer parts. That translates to a board that’s exceptionally thin and light, yet durable enough to handle the rigors of serious everyday use. The board provides a nice smooth ride while protecting all of the critical electronics and battery cells encased inside the deck from any sort of impact or bad weather. You do not have to worry if you hit a puddle or get stuck in rain when you are riding a Marbel Board.
The nose and tail of the board are the only parts not carbon fiber or kevlar. They are made of Urethane rubber, the same material our wheels are made from. We call them "bumpers", and they completely protect the front and back of the Marbel board from any impact. They also protect the tail of the board when you set it on the ground. To protect the sides and belly of the board, we utilize a Kevlar composite.
The question we get most is “How fast does it go?”…Well, it is one of the fastest production electric skateboards ever made. It has over 2000W of power, and will hit speeds up to 20 MPH. Our board can even hit 20 MPH going uphill.
We realize that 20 mph is pretty quick, so we have designed the board’s settings to be COMPLETELY customizable through a smartphone app.
The Marbel Board connects with our Dashboard smartphone ( iOS + Android) App to allow you to fully customize your ride. It gives you three pre-defined ride modes, and gives you full control over top speed and acceleration levels. If you want, you can even control the throttle directly from your phone! The Dashboard App also gives you access into the Marbel community. It gives you the ability to map, compare, and even share your favorite rides with friends and other Marbel riders.
Starter Mode - Recommended when just starting out on the board. This mode only lets you go 6 MPH and accelerates at only 25%
ECO Mode - Lets you get the maximum range! this mode will look at your past hour of riding to see exactly how you like to ride. It then applies an algorithm to slightly adjust those settings. On average you should get about 1 extra mile of range from the battery.
Custom Mode - Gives you full control of the acceleration level you want, and lets you set a top speed you are comfortable with.
Sport Mode - Gives you every ounce of power and speed the board has.
Other Dashboard App Features
Lock / Unlock - Allows you to set a passcode so the board cannot be used when locked.
Range Alarm - Set an alarm so you know when the battery gets to a certain level of charge.
Mapping - Shows a circle on your map to show you exactly what destinations are within your range

You can control the throttle and braking of the board with our handheld remote or the Marbel DashBoard App. To accelerate forward, you simply push the slider forward. The farther you push it forward, the faster you will go. If you let the slider go, it will spring back to the center and you will coast, just like a regular longboard. If you pull the slider back it will apply the brakes to slow you down and eventually bring you to a stop.
Riding the Marbel board is actually easier than riding a regular skateboard. This is because once you get going, you don't need to move your feet or shift your balance. You simply lean left or right in the the direction you want to turn, just like on a regular longboard. Many of our test riders have said they were surprised how easy it was to ride.

The Marble board was designed and will continue to be produced and assembled in the USA. We will use a combination of imported and domestic components to assemble all of the boards in our Tampa, FL manufacturing facility. We also manufacturer each and every carbon fiber and Kevlar deck right here in Tampa, FL.
We are almost ready for production. Our Kickstarter funding goal is based on placing orders with our suppliers to build a minimum of 100 Marbel Boards, having our molds manufactured for scalable production of the carbon/kevlar decks, and finalizing the design specs on the Dashboard App.

We've spent a lot of time making the Marbel board very user friendly, but it's a powerful machine and exhilarating to ride. That means you can still fall, and potentially hurt yourself or others or worse. Always wear a helmet, personal protective gear, don't ride outside your limits, learn in a safe environment on "Starter Mode" and use common sense.
Laws and regulations regarding electric vehicles, and electric skateboards, vary by country, state, county, and municipality, so please check the local legal status of this product before you ride it.
Risks and challenges
The Marbel Electric Skateboard is an advanced product and getting into full scale production is never easy. Thankfully we've are working with amazing suppliers and component manufacturers to make it happen.
Dashboard App - Still has to be approved by Apple and Google Play stores.
Some of our electronic components may have longer lead time than we foresee. We will be placing orders with our suppliers immediately after the Kickstarter campaign ends. We already have a back up supplier/manufacturer selected for almost every long lead time component of the board.
Battery and Electronic certification can sometimes be very quick or some times much longer if designs need to have slight modifications. We will be collaborating with certification testing laboratories to make this processes as smooth as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
