About this project
Looking Up is a Pain in the Neck. Literally.
Placing a TV above a fireplace moves the image you’re trying to watch well above eye level. Think back to the last time you went to the movie theater and had to sit in one of the front three rows. Chances are you walked out of the theater with a stiff neck. Cranking your neck into an unnatural position for an extended period of time is going to cause temporary discomfort. Worse, doing so day after day, even for short periods of time can have lasting effects such as chronic headaches. With MantelMount, you'll avoid that altogether.
The Perfect Angle. The Clearest Picture.
An LCD screen is essentially made up of tiny, shuttered windows. These windows open and close in order to let the TV’s backlight through to create the image. The problem with this otherwise-excellent display, is a very limited viewing angle. If you move too far left or right, up or down, the image loses brightness. Plasma TVs often lose brightness too due to filters that are put into place by the manufacturer. And then there’s the issue of anti-glare treatments, which don’t work properly unless you view the TV from straight on. MantelMount solves all that too!
Solid Construction. Easy to Install.
MantelMount’s patent-pending construction combines high-quality automotive pistons with lightweight alloys and state-of-the-art counterbalance technology, for a mount that's built to last! That's why we offer a 3-year replacement warranty with every order. (And also why we're sure you'll never need it). Additionally, anyone who can install a standard flat screen TV mount, can just as easily install a MantelMount.
You've Never Seen Anything Like It Before!
Other professional grade flat screen TV mounts that only offer tilt or swivel can cost anywhere from $500 to $900. MantelMount not only offers tilt and swivel but also allows you to easily pull the TV down off the wall and position it in front of the fireplace at eye level. And you can just as easily push it right back up. That's something you just don't get from those other mounts. Even better, MantelMount comes at a fraction of the cost!
Imagine you're laid back on your couch with a couple buddies watching the big game, and they're all asking about the sleek, adjustable TV mount you have so sturdy above your mantle. Well - here's what you can tell them about your new, prized entertainment possession: “It’s got the perfect view, every time.”

"We have the Mantle Mount up and is holding a 60" LCD. I like it a lot... it lowers very easily and raises up equally as easy. This mount is definitely a good deal. WE love ours, it was not hard to install at all."

"I feel the MantleMount is a great product. I've raised/lowered mine probably 15 times in the past 2 months and it works great. I've got a 70" Sharp which weighs about 90 pounds and the mount handles it fine."

MantelMount is as easy to install as any other standard flat screen wall mount. Check out the video below to see just how easy it can be. You can also download our Installation Guide
Maybe you want to have the go-to house for sports games and movie nights. Maybe you just want one for yourself at a great price. Or maybe you simply want to help Brian (the inventor) quit his boring day job to make his dream a reality.
Whatever your reason, by supporting the MantelMount Kickstarter campaign, you’ll enable the MantelMount team to lower manufacturing costs through increased production, while expanding operations and extending marketing reach. This will help us offer MantelMount at an affordable price to a much wider audience.
After this Kickstarter campaign ends, MantelMount will regularly sell for $389, but with the rewards below you can get one for almost 50% off!

According to Kickstarter, a Stretch Goal is a funding target set by the project creator beyond the original Kickstarter goal. We'd love to reach all our Stretch Goals through this Kickstarter campaign. (That would be awfully sweet!). More importantly, we wanted to share our future business plans and funding goals so you can get a sense of where we're going...
Risks and challenges
THE GOOD NEWS:
Unlike many Kickstarter projects, MantelMount has already been engineered, tooled & manufactured, with installation manuals written and packaging in place. We were diligent in researching and selecting our manufacturing partner and it has paid off. In fact, we’ve placed and received 2 separate manufacturing orders where our Quality Assurance testing yielded exceptional results and our initial customers remain very happy. We currently have 450 units in our warehouse ready to deliver, with more on the way. Additionally our manufacturing partner is prepared to quickly turn around many more units as necessary based on additional Kickstarter sales.
If we have the best problem of all, and we get an overwhelming-well-beyond-our-wildest-dreams-over-the-top number of backers, we will be scaling up to fulfill oodles of orders as quickly as possible - while keeping our product integrity high. Aside from the fact our manufacturing partners are praying we have such a problem, it would mean we'd have to scale up very quickly. If a batch of parts fails QA testing there could be a delivery impact. The good news is Quality Assurance is important to us, and our manufacturing partner has already proven to delivery high quality goods.
Our product will arrive by boat from China. If a container gets stuck at the dock it can impact our delivery date. There’s no pushing customs.
While unlikely, it's possible to see government, labor or dock worker union strikes, and if that happens everything comes to a grinding halt. Frankly, in that scenario, we won’t be the only ones with a forced fulfillment delay.
ACTS OF GOD:
Wacky weather, earthquakes, alien invasions, locusts, can all impact our ability to deliver on time. It happens. Maybe not the locusts so much, but anything is possible :)
