Free Staple City!

Hi Everyone,

Its been a while.. We wanted to brief you on what had happened since the project ended, and give you a free gift (better late than never) as a gratitude for your early support.

Clocks, Reinvented

We decided that our focus will be solely on clocks. Studio Ve's tagline is "Clocks, Reinvented" and we hope to continue and create unusual clock designs you'll love. We had two other Kickstarter projects, Manifold Clock & Perspective Clocks. The Manifold Clock shipped to backers almost two years ago, and we'll be fulfilling the Perspective Series in a couple of weeks.

Lithe Clock

  • The Lithe clock was nominated for the German Design Awards 2013.
  • In the past couple of months we've received a few emails describing a problem in which the hands can't make it past XX:40. We checked and found out that it is caused because the minute hand is slightly too heavy for the movement. The root cause is probably the powder coating coloring - in some hands it got too thick, and changes the balance. We hope you can understand it is a new product's childhood disease.. There is an easy fix - trimming the long hand by only 2 inches should solve the problem.
  • Another feedback we got from many of you is that the hands break easily, so we found a better way to produce them. Instead of soldering the tips of two metal rods to the ring, we now take a longer rod and bend it so it will go around the ring.
The contact area is now significantly larger, making the soldering stronger. This eliminates the problem completely.

If you encountered any trouble with the clock, please send us an email at support@studiove.com. Mistakes happen - we're still here to fix them.

Yesterday, one of our clocks started selling at MoMA Design Store, alongside 23 other selected Kickstarter design projects. This is another big step for the Kickstarter community to make its way to the mainstream consumer world.

Even though the project you backed isn't part of this collaboration, we're sure we couldn't have done it without you. So once again, we'd like to thank each and every one of you, and give you a free gift in exchange for a review.

Your Free Gift

We know you'll have lots of insights to share. After all, you've had it for a while. J
The first 6 backers to post a review on the Lithe Clock product page will get Staple City for free. We designed Staple City last year, before focusing on clocks, and we're sure it would look great on your desk. It's a stapler and staples that look... ah.. like a city.
