About this project
Two parallel campaigns were done for DIG. The total funding goal equals the sum of both campaigns. For more details see March 19th Update.
The Hill hides many treasures and all it takes to collect them is to DIG! However, these are not the only things the Hill hides... Creatures and traps await, the galleries you will create might either mean wealth or despair.
Delve into the hill and gather ten gems to win the game! Take some risks, push your luck, hire recruits to dig deeper and win favours of companions (Knight, Wizard, Scout, Hunter...) to protect your galleries from the many creatures (Thieves, Skeletons, Orcs..) and traps the Hill hides.
DIG finds its path between adventure, strategy, luck and resource management. In this card-driven game for 2 to 4 players ages 10 and up, fun meets strategy, luck meets roleplaying and fantasy meets pixel art design within 20 to 45 minutes.
DIG is easy to learn. It is a great game if you are looking for adventure in an universe filled with eye-catching 8-bit graphics.
DIG was designed with the following principles: keep the mechanics simple, mix strategy and push-your-luck, propose a fantasy RPG atmosphere and give the game a retro look from the NES golden age. The result is a neat game which has received great reviews all around the globe. While easy to learn, DIG will challenge you to take some risks in order to enjoy it to the fullest. Whether you choose to dig carefully alone or gather as many Precious Stones as you can to hire a Companion, the game will always feel different each time you will play it. With your help, I intend to give the game more depth and add a competitive aspect with the addition of new trick cards, creatures and bonuses that will extend the already entertaining gameplay.
In addition to the core game I also designed a playmat. This mat is absolutely not mandatory to play the game, I created it because I love to play games on a board and I think some of you might like boards and playmats as much as I do. It matches perfectly the pixel-art design of the cards. The mat will be made of thick neoprene rubber and will allow up to 4 players to dig in dedicated cards slots. Companions will fit and sit nicely at the Tavern's tables and, of course, each player will have room to keep the cards and Gems she has collected.
DISCLAIMER: the following videos were made with prototypes (see "We did it" update fur further details) - cards sizes and components quality are below the final product's.

- 1. "Dig" by drawing one card at a time
- 2. Collect the Precious Stones
- 3. Hire a Recruit for 5 Crystals
- 4. Put your Recruit on a card to start a Gallery
*Whenever you place a Recruit, draw another card right after and add to it the Gallery!
- 5. When your turn comes choose either to "dig" in your Gallery(ies) - add one card per Gallery you own... or choose to "dig" aside from them an either collect the card drawn or choose to place a Recruit on it to start a new Gallery.
- 6. For each set of 5 cards a Gallery creates a Gem!
When your turn comes you can choose either to"dig" aside from your Gallery(ies), close one of your Galleries (i.e. retreive everything in it) or push your luck and try to create more Gems and even to draw special cards...
- 7. Some will make your Gallery(ies) wealthier...
- 8. ...but other can mean despair.
- 9. Dig faster and safer by hiring one or several Companions with unique abilities!
The first player to gather 10 Gems wins the game and becomes THE KING OF THE HILL!
The core game contains quite some cards - over 140! - but, with your help I'd like to add some more! Not just to acheive a higher Hill, but also to add new mechanics, new trick cards and more Companions - in short: to extend the gameplay!

Several months ago I decided to change my way of life drastically, I have always played tabletop games and was constantly creating some but I used to work in the cinema industry. Therefore, I started my micro-enterprise to handle every legal aspect of the creation and the paperwork, playtested my ideas a lot and figured out that the time had come for me to make one step forward. So here I am, submitting my very first game to you. Well, actually I did a first Kickstarter for DIG but I decided to cancel it since there were a few things I did not take in consideration.
Luckily, I met Daniel from Board Game Circus who offered his help and support to rise a new campaign. He and his teammate Alexander have given me great advice on how to avoid traps and how to build a great project from start to finish.
So here I am - really excited about your feedback and ready to work my ass off to improve the game with your help! In the end, my biggest wish is to succeed in this project so that I can give you more of them. Thank you if you choose to back my project, thank you if you read so far, thank you for taking the time to wonder what DIG is about!
Please note that prices other than Euros (€) are estimated according to the exchange rate available at the time the campaign was launched.

Risks and challenges
Since this is my first project, I might face some unforeseen issues. But I chose trustworthy partners, from manufacturing to fulfillment, and added a lot of buffering to my estimated schedule.
What should really concern me is that, if an unfortunate event happens to me, the project will be stuck for some time. So I will stay in my cave for as long as it takes the project to be completed ;)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
