KITTENS!! Plus, BackerKit + shirts update

FIRST THINGS FIRST! The other day I went to a lovely home in northern Los Angeles and shot the following video of KITTENS. I had to be frisked to make sure I didn't stuff 'em all in my pockets on the way out. They were so cute!!

The kittens were generously loaned to us by Cats at the Studios, a nonprofit rescue organization. For information about adopting or fostering a li'l kitten, you can check out their website!

Kickstarter Surveys

have started going out to physical tier backers!

If you're at a digital-only tier, you won't get one, since your rewards will be delivered via KS updates and messages. (Unless you want to upgrade to a physical tier, in which case you can message me.)

Special note to T-shirt tier backers: I've discovered that no manufacturer makes ladies' shirts in the particular shade of orange that we planned for the Zoo-In-a-Can shirts. So when you choose your shirt size in your survey, you will have the choice of specifying Mens/Unisex shirts in orange, or you can now get either sex in navy blue. (Which I think is a more commonly liked color anyway.)

Mens/Unisex shirts in both colors will be American Apparel; ladies shirts in navy will be Bella (which is a bit more stretchy).

By the end of this week

all the BackerKit invites will be sent out. In BackerKit, you will be able to change your shipping address, take care of any outstanding charges, modify your Add-Ons or add new upgrades to your rewards, and make sure any Add-On T-shirts are the correct size (since those won't be addressed in the main survey). Here's a brief overview of what it looks like:

Questions about BackerKit, or anything relating to your order, can now be directed to – this will make less work for me, and help me get the game out sooner!

@Lino: I'm guessing you would be fine, but it can't hurt to just confirm the details via BackerKit. It took me all of 3 screens and 5 clicks. It just has you create a password, make sure all of your funds are allocated correctly, and then "checkout" which if you've paid in full and have no add ons will involve no payment info being entered. All the info you've given already should be in there. It can't hurt to do it real quick just to make sure you get your stuff. In fact I think it's taken me longer to type this than it did to do the BackerKit stuff :).

I pledged the "got played" level for $25 with shipping to the US. I have no addons, no international shipping, no extra $ pledged. Can I just ignore this whole BackerKit buisness, since I already filled out the backer survey and gave you my address?

I hope you have enough cards for the Calgary Expo. I'll definitely be stopping by the booth, but I only have tickets for Sunday

@Nathan Black If you go to their website, there is BIG grey "donate now" button on the left side of the main page. You can also click on "how to help" and there is a fund raising contact e-mail at the bottom which you might be able to enquire about other donation options.

That's the best way to shuffle the cards ever!

Best KS update ever. Is there a donation link to the kitten rescue, so we can thank them too?

YouTube + Kittens + Machine of Death = Marketing Genius...Evil Genius.

I was expecting the video to go very, very...very wrong at the end...

    12. Jill Nagy Anderson on April 22, 2013

The kitten video was everything I'd hoped for AND MORE. Well worth waiting until those kittens were falling ripe off the trees.

    13. bagheadinc on April 22, 2013

I'm glad you waited until kitten season, only ripe kittens know how to purr.
