Shipping costs overseas are a difficult situation and were an extremely difficult decision for us to make. We have seen many other projects charge less for shipping, but have also found that those same costs are buried or hidden elsewhere because shipping is unfortunately an unavoidable necessity and simply isn't free. Some people suggested that I don't offer overseas shipping at all, and I found that unacceptable--it's simply unfair to everyone over there that loves games just like we do.
I know that some people will find it upsetting and will find those prices unattractive, but I knew that for us, it was better to be honest about it and be transparent about what the actual costs are, but also be vigilant to find any way to make those costs as low as possible.
Thanks to our shipping partner and their effective warehousing & overseas distribution network, we were actually able to reduce the shipping prices pretty significantly, packages of the same size and weight personally cost me upwards of $40 each in some cases to send to Europe during the review period, and I am proud to say that we have been able to cut that price in half for the campaign. As much as I would love to be able to just pay out of pocket and ship everything for free, it just simply isn't possible.
If you are indeed interested in the game, (and we hope you are!) we recommend trying to find a small group of others in your area via Board Game Geek that may be willing to split the cost of a multipack to get the per-unit shipping closer to what it might be for a domestic package.
I know it doesn't make it that much easier, but I definitely empathize. Nobody likes to pay for shipping, but we cannot ethically pretend it is free either, that wouldn't be honest. We hope you will consider splitting a multipack at least to ease the pain a little bit. You won't be disappointed in the game. :)
