Apart from having a really good reason to FB every single person I know and re-connect with them I'm so excited to inspire my friends, all of whom are struggling artists of one sort or another, in telling them about Kickstarter. Schools have suffered budget cuts year after year and the programs that immediately get the axe are the art classes, dance classes, photography, cooking, home economics, even creative writing. All the things that teach a child so much more than just information. In these classes you learn to how take initiative and creative problem solving. Two skills I do not witness in most people. Two skills that are no longer rewarded in schools. When I spent some time on Kickstarter I felt so much more empowered. It meant the world to me to know that there are enough people out there who want the arts so much they will search it out and support it. I love passive entertainment as much as anyone but after awhile something in me cries out for a challenge. For creation, for innovation, fresh images, new stories. Something to tickle my brain! And it's all here, on kickstarter!
