Cosmic Highway is a new game for the Nintendo Wii U being developed by Maestro Interactive Games, the same developers bringing Notion Games Super Ubi Land to the Wii U.

We have built five unique racers for players to choose from, each with their own musical style and abilities.
1. The Steampunk Racer as seen in the video, has the ability to create a smokescreen blinding the other players. It features a victorian and classical musical style.
2. The Modern Racer has the ability to create a shield around itself protecting the player from objects both on the track and from other players. The musical style of this racer is Rock/Electronic
3. The Cartoon Racer has the ability to drop bananas on the course causing players that collide with them to swerve into the walls. The musical style of this racer is Jazz.
4. The Dark Racer has the ability to cause spirits to stun its enemies for a short period of time. The musical styling of the Dark Racer is Orchestral.
5. The Glitch Racer has the special ability of CopyCat. It can steal any of the other players abilities, but there is a catch. The ship has the chance to end up glitching, teleporting itself to a random place in the race. I.E (1st to 5th, 2nd to 4th, etc) The musical style of the Glitch Racer is Chiptunes.
The cool thing about the musical styles of the game is that on any given race, the music will adapt based on who is in first place. We have created songs for each race, however certain characteristics will be altered to fit the racing style of the person in the lead. We feel that this is something that can create a new racing experience for players.
So far we have developed 15 unique levels for the player to experience, each with its own music composed in house. And we plan to have 30 levels total by the end of development.
Maestro Interactive Games was founded to focus on the audio aspect of game design. We felt that gamers have gotten tired of the same old experiences that have come out lately. Everyone has become accustomed to Halo, Call of Duty and the rest. At the time, those were NEW experiences and they were amazing. We've had beautiful experiences from games like Limbo, Super Meat Boy, and acoustic experiences like Journey, and we've had new adventures from games like LA Noire, but we wanted to let players explore something new. We wanted players to re-experience audio in games.
This is a game designed to be fun, to be engaging, and to push the boundaries of what players expect video games to be. Most of all, it is meant to be a new experience for gamers.
Maestro Interactive Games is a team of developers with experience in the "AAA" and "Indie" game space. Our teams developers individually have some impressive titles such as Donkey Kong Country Returns, and companies like Microsoft and Nintendo under their belts.
The answer is no - this is a game for everyone, the primary objective of the game is to create a fun gaming experience for all gamers and enjoy the audio as they go. We hope that gamers will feel that the acoustic merits of games is something that should not be discounted when they play Cosmic Highway.
We've put a lot of effort into the stereo mode so we hope you will experiment with the way audio plays in your own gaming environment with this title. On the Wii U, you will use the Wii U GamePad to move left and right, as well as select everything using either the touch screen or the diagonal pad. We anticipate a second screen experience as well, as well as the TV off option that the GamePad supports. We are also developing extra features in the multiplayer splitscreen component for the player using the GamePad.
We hope to raise money on Kickstarter to complete the last 15 levels and finish development for the Wii U. We plan to launch the title in late spring of 2013 on the Wii U.
We have an aggressive schedule in order to keep our costs down and get our backers the most value out of their donations. However, even though Cosmic Highway is currently going to be only available for the Wii U, we are developing it using cross platform practices, so do not rule out future platforms. We would like the game to be an exclusive on the Wii U, but if we get enough support we may bring it to other platforms. In fact, look at our stretch goals for details on that.
We are currently finishing up work on Cosmic Highway as well as work on Super Ubi Land for the Wii U from Notion Games, as well as starting "pre-pre"-production work on our next Wii U title after Cosmic Highway, Fade Into Darkness, an exploratory audio experience. We are offering backers of Cosmic Highway a unique opportunity to get a copy of the short story our team has put together for Fade Into Darkness before it becomes available for sale.

Digital Support-For $5, we will be putting your name in the KickStarter Supporter section of the credits on the game, we will also add you to the mailing list, give you access to the forum and give you the free song. (What a steal of a deal!)
Digital Music-For $15, get a digital download of the Cosmic Highway Soundtrack. We are releasing 6 different soundtracks, 5 Digital and 1 Physical Soundtrack. We will be sending you a questionnaire asking which of the soundtracks you want. You will also get the lower rewards.

Bonus Digital Tier-For $21, we are rewarding our backers with a unique gift. Get exclusive access to the story of our next title Fade Into Darkness, months before the short story and game become available for sale. We will also create a unique Forum for the backers for this game, to discuss it with us. Also you will get the lower tiers.
The Game On Time-For $25, we are rewarding our backers with a copy of Cosmic Highway Wii U the day it is released on the Nintendo eShop. Plus for those that have access to an iOS device, we will give you a copy of one of our previous iOS releases, Maestro Mini Golf to download. (If you do not have an iOS device, we can provide you a PC/Mac version) You will also get the previous rewards.
These three prizes are all different and all very rare opportunities for our backers. Unfortunately, we can not provide backers with all three items in one donation however, so choose wisely.
Physical Music- Limited to 100 People -For $40, we are providing the physical soundtrack. This is the last of the 6 soundtracks for Cosmic Highway. This will be the only way to get this soundtrack, each album cover will be signed by the developers and will contain the special world music. The Associate Producer- Limited to 2 People-For $250, we are giving two donators the chance to become Associate Producers on a Nintendo Wii U eShop title. You will also get the Physical Soundtrack from Tier 2 and you will get all the rewards in Tier 1.
The Party-Limited to 5 People For $500, come by Maestro Interactive Games studio and have a fun night with some of the developers. We will hook up the Wii U and play Cosmic Highway, and much more. Risks and challenges
Cosmic Highway has an aggressive schedule and healthy ambitions. As with any other game project, the greatest risk is that deadlines might get missed and at worst the game might fail to finish.
Thanks to previous experience in the game industry shipping games of all sizes, we've insulated Cosmic Highway against this regrettably common risk. Our core strategy is focusing on complex audio design, which means that we focus heavily on tools and being able to test changes quickly. This also allows us to develop the game at a much faster pace without compromising the quality of the title.
Additionally, Cosmic Highway core mechanics "scale" well, which means that they can be represented very simply but also with high levels of polish. We can also develop new levels quickly, while still retaining the high quality should the stretch goals be met.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
