We are officially adding support for Linux and SteamOS! Thanks for weighing in and letting us know how much you want it.

We are big fans of SteamOS.  We think it will be a great platform for games!

I am glad you have added Linux support, I only fund these games on Kickstarter if they offer it and I have fond memories of playing A-10 Tank Killer as a child. Very much looking forward to playing this release on my Linux computer!

Shmerl, they're not working on Linux support at this point, and given the responses when it comes up on the forum, I wouldn't expect Linux support to ever come. Whenever it comes up, they make excuses for why they don't want to add support rather than admitting that they just don't think there's sufficient interest to warrant the expenditure.

Many thanks! Will this be a simultaneous launch?

      Can't wait to play!

Besides all the requests for Linux support, another big reason we'll support Linux is because it's open. As an Indie Game developer for 20 years, I've had to fight the gatekeepers for access to their walled gardens. I see more and more walls going up. I want the players to decide what games they want. I want an open, competitive market because I think we can deliver as much value in our game as anyone else. I would rather put all our time and effort into making the best possible game.

Red Baron will be available on our website www.redbarongame.com, DRM free, with Linux support (as well as SteamOS and Windows).

I.e. GOG doesn't support Linux releases yet (though they are supposedly working on that):

Thanks for adding Linux support! How are you going to distribute it DRM free (for those who don't use Steam)? Through Humble Bundle or some other way?

      This is great news. Thanks!

@Alexander The game isn't exclusive to Steam. It's just one of the avenue's we're releasing it on.

Thank you for adding Linux support!

You have the game listed as DRM FREE, Steam is most definitely DRM, I'm hoping for a GOG.COM Release.
