Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about the rules:
Q: The game has no turns, but when do I draw more cards?
A: If you have less than 3 cards in your hand, you may draw. The only exception to this is that you cannot draw when the game is "Stopped"
Q: I played my destroy card just before my opponent played a "Stop", can I finish the destroy action?
A: Timing rules for all cards are related to whether or not they are touching the table. If the ingredient you are trying to destroy is still touching the table, then the Stop is considered to have happened first. The same applies to move cards. If you play an ingredient card and it is touching the table it is considered to have been played first.
Q: That helps but what if it's too close to call?
A: If it is unclear who was first, the tie goes to the person playing the Stop card. If a player is trying to win the game by calling out "Madness!" and it is too close to call, the cards cancel each other out and the game continues.
Look for more updates coming soon!
The game has been thoroughly play-tested and is ready to enter the market. The only things left to finish are the packaging layout and the rules insert. We have a print company in California that is ready to begin our first production run. They will also be printing our packaging and rules once those graphics are finalized. We have priced everything for this first print run and expect to MSRP the game for $14.99.
In addition, this product will be 100% Made in the USA. We are using materials that are as sustainable as we can afford for a small first print and we hope to become even more eco-friendly as time goes on.

About the Limited Edition Stop Cards:
We will have three different Limited Edition Stop Cards available for backers at different tiers (currently code-named Stop A, Stop B, and Stop C). They will be more powerful than a typical stop card and will have slightly different graphics. Please check back here for updates and previews of the limited edition cards.
About our company, Very Vivid Innovations:
Very Vivid Innovations (VVI for short) is a game-design start up company based in Portland, Oregon. VVI is made up of two guys who love playing and making games (Chad Sewell and Tyler Kennedy). This is the first game that we have designed that is ready to actually become a product on a shelf. We have dreams of one day designing games for a living but right now we both work full time day jobs. We have a few more game ideas in the design and development stages that have been put on hold while we focused all of our attention on actually bringing MADNESS to the world.
Risks and challenges
The major risks and challenges we face after funding are getting our game product into stores. We do not want to sit on a large amount of inventory so our first goal is to get the game picked up locally in game stores here in Portland. After that we intend to grow our market via word of mouth and social media as well as contacting game stores in a wider and wider area.
Because we already have a production company lined up and we have already calculated the costs of producing our first run of games, the financial risks are small once we reach our goal and actually receive our funding. We have also given ourselves a small financial buffer with this funding goal because we realize that even the best business plans often run into unexpected setbacks.
Whether or not we encounter any setbacks we plan to keep any and all contributors up-to-date in terms of the stages of the process of production.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
