SO WHO ARE WE?
We're Tessa Lewis and Maddy Maxey. Former college roomates, early risers, and shamefully addicted to inspirational quotes. To put it simply, we're two 19 year old girls with big aspirations and the determination to get us there.
so why Madison Maxey Blazers? Not to boast, but.....
OUR BLAZERS ARE SIMPLY BETTER
After discovering that most blazers are made with synthetics, we decided that all of our blazers should be made with fabric people can understand. Our blazers are lined with %100 silk satin, making them slide over the skin as you put it on. They also feature cotton stretch twill for the shell, which moves with the body allowing the wearer to feel free to move and stretch as she wishes. The fashion industry can be wasteful with excess fabric, so to avoid contributing to the issue, we decided that all of our custom collars must be made from a range of recycled designer fabrics that would have otherwise been thrown away. This season's collections come from Donna Ricco, and the patterns can be chosen by the customer. All jackets come fully Lined with two piece sleeves for the best quality.
We want you to love your blazer, so we've made ours more comfortable, more colorful, and more natural than any other blazer company out there.
WE WANT YOU TO EXPERIENCE OUR GARMENTS...NOT JUST BUY THEM.
To create this experience, we live by our mission statement.
"Fast fashion is nice in a pinch, but we believe that slow fashion is better. At Madison Maxey, we strive to achieve an old world shopping experience and to make purchasing a Madison Maxey blazer a personal, honest and true exploratory experience that’s about so much more than exchanging cash for goods. We believe that good garments should be passed down from generation to generation, mom to daughter, and we source the best natural fibers we can find in order to achieve garments that will stand up to this test. Most of all, however, is our dedication to the customer. We want you to be happy with your experience with us, and in order to achieve that goal, we are always changing and growing. We are a company that’s here to service you. We hope you enjoy what we can offer, and we hope your dreams can be achieved while confidently wearing one of our blazers."
WE'RE NOT THE ONLY BLAZER ADDICTS!
"Your [blazers] look cool and I admire your drive...good luck and don't give up"- Andy Lassner, Producer of The Ellen DeGeneres Show
"The Blazers are adorable" -Donna Ricco, Designer who sells at Nordstroms and Macy's and also supplied this season's collar fabrics)
"I love your lookbook, and this definitely seems like something HG readers would love (myself included)"- Torre Healy, writer for Zooey Deschanel's blog, Hello Giggles
SO WHAT'S THIS DEADLINE ABOUT?
Madison Maxey Inc was started by Madison Maxey, a 19 year old California native in December 2011 after she felt her college money could be better spent by learning through experience and starting a business. Her company is organized around one concept; “Blazers for the Individual”. All of her designs reflect the idea that this one garment can be made to embrace the individual. After seeing how different brands dominate parts of the industry, (eg Lucky with jeans or Juicy with sweat suits) all have yet to claim women's blazers. However, in order to leave school to start the fashion company she’s always dreamed of, her Maddy must find success before the year is over. After that, time is up, and she must return to school and study the subject of her parents choice, making the brand a mirage of the past.
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
These first blazers we sell through Kickstarter are essential to our production line and for us to create a viable business. Through getting a blazer on your back, we raise money and learn from the process.
BE A CHATTERBOX:
We would be so thankful if you could spread the word about our project. Even just sending a link to a friend gets us closer to our goal.
We need your help to make our brand a reality!
WHAT YOU GET FOR SUPPORTING
$150 and above
ONE LAST THING....
to send us any questions, comments, or maybe even a cool link to a song you found on Youtube, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or follow us on twitter at @madisonmaxey.
To give you a general idea, our mean's blazers would be the same fabrication as the women's blazers (100% silk lining and stretch cotton twill exteriors with patterned or contrast collars and pockets) and single breasted, one or two buttons with a deep cut collar and a skinner fit. The goal is to have a men's blazer that reflects our women's blazers so it wouldn't be anything too boxy or stiff or typical. It has to be comfortable and fashionable but still very classic at the same time!
Nothing at all. We appreciate the fact that you're supporting us at all. We'll find a way to get your blazer to you without taking even an extra dime.
