Stay sharp: The ghosts don’t make it easy! Each ghost has special powers and events that can make your day, or destroy your plans. You’ll have to work with your team to figure out the best ways to help the team and hope that these pestering ghosts don’t ruin everything.
When all the dust settles, the points from all the caught ghosts are added up, and you can see what you got paid. . . This is a cooperative card game—the more your team works together, communicates and plans, the better your score will be!

Although your job in Too Many Ghosts! Is to catch ghosts, you can’t expect them to make it easy! Many ghosts have special powers, or events that occur when they appear, are caught, or escape.

Too Many Ghosts! was created by a group of parents in a humble attempt to teach their kids collaboration, communication, and teamwork. Turns out, that’s a pretty hard thing to do!
Our original goal for the game was to capture the collaborative experience of games like Forbidden Island matched with the mounting pressure and complexity of Oregon Trail (The original. Yea, we’re that old). As we developed the game, we started seeing some advanced gameplay challenges come up - Our kids were ending up in some really difficult situations and had to think through it several times to find out the best actions to take.
It was really difficult in the beginning. Our early prototypes were so hard, a few of our kids cried (great parenting!) or would only focus on catching their ghosts, and would ignore offering any help or resources to the rest of the team. After watching them fail to win the game several times, we started seeing them realize how important trading resources was, and taking the extra time to figure out how to get the most points.
We knew we were on the right track when they started saying “ Ok, it’s my turn - Who needs help first?”
Working on this game, we looped in countless friends and other families with kids. We’ve bribed them with pizza to play the worst versions of this prototype, and congratulated them with cookies once kids were able to get above 40 points in the game.
The result is a very unique experience - Set collection, mounting pressure, and the need to work as a team to get the best score possible. We’ve been having a great time developing Too Many Ghosts! And we’re excited to have a chance to bring this game to life for you.

Estimated Shipping Costs
- Domestic Shipping: For USPS shipping, we expect to charge $5-10 per package. We'll have upgrade options to USPS Priority, UPS, etc.
- EU/AU/CA Shipping: We work with fulfillment partners in the EU, AU, and CA. The cost to ship a package through these partners is $10-12. We will offer upgrade options that include tracking, priority, and more.
- Everywhere Else: We expect shipping everywhere else to be roughly $12-15 per package. We will offer upgrade options that include tracking, priority shipping, etc., but upgraded shipping will probably start at $40+.
Risks and challenges
We've done our homework and have as much ready as possible before even launching the Kickstarter, but there are always challenges once it's completed. There may be factory delays or errors, which can cause delays for fulfillment. We've been warned by our printing and shipping companies that this is a tricky time of year to fulfill orders, given the spike in shipping across the globe.

Since this is our first Kickstarter, we don't have the established network and mailing lists of existing backers and are working with Funded Today to help get the word out with this campaign.
