In each game of CLASH! Dawn of Steam the players will either fight to tear a location to shreds one piece at a time, or stand up to protect it. Here are some highlights of the game that may pique your interest:
-Asymmetric game play. Meaning that within the game itself there are two different sides, each with its own separate win condition.
-Beautifully Illustrated Full-Art Cards. With a team of world class artists on board we opted to have our art on showcase, as such the card layouts feature the artwork proudly rather then hiding 80% of it behind filler design space.
-No randomized sets or packs. So you always know exactly what you're getting. No chasing rares or useless commons.

Enter the world of Asyria, a fantasy landscape that is suddenly ushered forward into a new era of technology, fueled by a recently acquired magical energy.
Even as the world is still becoming acclimated to this new energy, villains and heroes have already stepped up willing to harness this new fate altering magic!
You will become one of these gifted pioneers, but whether you choose to use this new power to aid the industrialization of this world, or to change it entirely is up to you.
Each backer who pledges at a level $10 or higher will also receive a FREE Making of CLASH! Dawn of Steam Artbook PDF. The Artbook includes a short story for each of the 8 Main Characters for Wave 1, fiction on the world of Asyria, concept art, and interviews. As a stretch goal we hope to print these and include one inside each box so share the project with friends to help us put more awesome product in each box!

We've spent the last 12 months ensuring that the game mechanics were as fun and balanced as possible, while slowly commissioning the art for the game out of pocket one piece at a time. This project is a labor of love, which is why we've had no problem locking ourselves in our homes, and living modestly in order to fund the game to the stage it's at now. We've self-funded all of the art for an entire 2-Player Boxed Set as a show of our passion and ever-growing belief in this evolving world of Asyria.
And so, the time has finally come to share our game with the world, and we need your help so that we can have our world class artists finish up the artwork, and send the game off to final production. Here at Mad Ape Games we take great pride in announcing that we've chosen to have the game manufactured right here in California. This will give us greater control over the process then having the game manufactured in China where we would have a huge language barrier in the way of us putting out the best product possible. Risks and challenges
We have taken several steps to instill confidence in our potential backers, including the following:
1) Using a local manufacturer/printer. In my day job as a graphic artist I've worked with this company many times and they work extremely hard, and put out a beautiful product.
2) Hiring several artists. We currently have multiple talented artists ready to create stunning art to illustrate the world of Asyria. By having multiple artists working at once we can greatly hasten our ship date.
3) Submitting the game to All Us Geeks, WeaponsGrade Tabletop, Good Geek Gaming, and Bower's Game Corner to be reviewed. We believe in our game and so when we sent it off to get impartial reviews from the awesome channels above, we had total confidence it would hold up.

Absolutely, this means that we have 4 absolutely different decks for the Wave 1 launch. Both boxed sets together will provide you with 120 Hope cards and 120 Fear cards to strategize with.
We intend to release future Waves of Dawn of Steam as additional 2-Player Boxed Sets. Eventually if the demand is high though we may release Faction Expansion Decks that would add new cards to the game story-wise, representing advancement of the world and factions.
CLASH! Dawn of Steam has been a dream of mine for years, I've been building this world of intrigue in my head and I really think that others could come to enjoy the wonders of it as much as me. As an independent game design studio on Kickstarter you must have a polished product and enough of a fan base prior to release in order to get the game funded, with our last Kickstarter we weren't ready with the amount of advertising that is needed to make a successful Kickstarter. As an indy game developer you must have a near perfect product prior to launch day to show how much dedication you have to your product and that is what we have shown you with the new Kickstarter for CLASH! Dawn of Steam.
This is a project that is nearly fully realized, and ready to be enjoyed, we just need to finish the remaining art and manufacturing. Through the help of others in the tabletop games community our game has soared to previously unimaginable levels of awesome. I'd like to ask for your help with the journey, because we would love to have your support and feedback!
